Just now, in my native language. I really hoped there was something wrong with the translation...

I thought the Japanese in some ways...wanted the Americans to to spread out anime on the net...to a certain extent of course, as it is a form of advertising ('coz then the companies would be interested in licensing etc.)
But you've gotta admit...it's kinda gotten out of hands...but still >_>

If I was the President I would ask for a compromise. We would stop the distribution of anime online IF they stop killing all the whales and sharks. People have told them countless times and yet the Japanese use loopholes so they can over fish. If they can't do that, then I say "Fuck Em".

Uh-oh, I sense troubles. I don't think that American gov. will do something about it. As Japanese said, it's too expensive.

huhhh, well... thats gonna trouble me. since i rely alot on english translation, but i guess it gives a boost to the hebrew fansub (that would make one known group...) .
what if the distribution comes from other countries?
if japan only targets the u.s groups, then what if the groups will use servers outside of the u.s or something?

Warn: Banned
yeah...that's not going to happen.....I mean it would be too much trouble.......
Now, if Japan paid us money to do that.......that's a different story.

Well Fox banned some videos on youtube (Family Guy) but banning all anime from youtube AND making it unatainable by bittorent is just impossible. I mean US has more important matters to deal with like war.

wow, i didn't think they felt that strongly on the issue
they're probly just mad anime box set sales over here aren't as high as they could be, considering they cost 20+ dollars for 4 episodes in a series
and then there's manga cost 10+ per book here, while oversea's they're super cheap. my chinese roommate said their equivalent to $1.50 back home

Average American makes 100$ + per day and average Chinese maybe 10$ + so ofc stuff is cheaper in China.
Banning anime would be too hard so USA government do nothing and we all still get daily anime and manga.

😲 10$ that barely covers my train fare.
Even if the US goverment doesn't do anything Japan seems very serious and due to JASRAC sucess of banning some anime from youtube they might try to target other individual sites. Though i hope not.

The American government, or at least lawyers in America, already have enough trouble with torrent sites just for stuff that originates in America, i.e. music, tv shows, movies, etc. I don't know what else they can do, considering that America is essentially the international poster-boy for free speech and that the internet can be considered free-speech. It's already been argued, I think, that interference with sites on the internet can be considered a violation of a person's first amendment rights. This is put against copyright laws and such that are established in the US, but judges are proabably gonna have hard time deciding which of the two takes precedence over the other.

I guess I will have to start buying my anime from Best Buy, a year later and for $25-30 for 3 or 4 episodes.
Wait, I will never do that. I guess I'll stop watchin' Anime. I hope the Anime Industry suffers a huge hit. At least then they will stop making garbage as fast as they can sell it and will have to put real quality into animation and writing in order to justify the price to American consumers.
I say to heck with them. If it wasn't for internet Anime, I probably would neer have even watched (or later bought) 90% of the Anime that I have.
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.
