Cheebs- I don't think much sewing will be required for that costume! You only need to find the skirt, a white blouse, black boots and a scarf.
Give me a few hours and I can find all those pieces on the internet and send you the links. You prolly wont spend more than $200 - I think the boots will cost the most ~ $120Also - I am an Otaku and I have many tattoos. (I started the anime tattoo thread btw 😛 ) I am currently planning a yuko (xxxholic) tattoo and a Gunslinger Girl tattoo.
I'll post pics when I get them in a few weeks. 😀 😀 😀 😀
Okay~ But it's not really a scarf...more like a humongous ribbon bow tie. @.@ See?
Maybe I should go take a peek in there, cuz now I'm curious...
But belly button rings...on guys?? 😔
Ok, now I see it! I was confusing the hair with the ribbon before. That makes it way easier. What country are you in so I can try find links to places that will ship to you? The nice thing about Anime and Manga cosplay is that it's always really easy to put together a really nice looking (sometimes smecksy) outfit for really cheap. The trick is to actually use schoolgirl uniform companies as a source.
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

Sweet. I'm in the USA. 🤣 It'd be awesome if I could do this Halloween...it'd make my boyfriend so happy. Though what should I do about the hair?!

A little off topic but I just finished watching Beautyand the Geeks and wondered if anyone on here are that geeky. ^_^ I think that an otaku/geek like that would be very fun honestly.
Also, seriously schoolgirl outfits are pretty easy I think. Depending what you want you want I'd look at real uniform companies they aren't really expensive. I bought girl's uniform skirt during the winter for like $6 or $8.
~ cosmates isn't that bad on prices I suppose.

Oh no, no it was on clearance because school already started. Originally at the store I think it was $32? It's an actual school girl skirt.

this is so stolen from lucky star XD. Anyways, I know some female otakus that go after male otakus, they're pretty small in majority though.

You're kidding right? My elementary school uniform was about $45 just for the skirt. D:
Where'd you get the cheap stuff?

THRE IS NO SUCH THING AS NORMAL OTAKU, GET THIS INTO YOUR HEAD. the definition of a n otaku is: an obseesed freak over a single thing, that cant think of anything else, and is so into it that he will abandon all other things, such as shower, for example to just sit at home and be obsessed. that is what otaku it. dictionary definition. u still wanna be an otaku?
I think, once again, this is a question of useage as opposed to specific definition. The original definition of "Pretty" was "deceitful" and yet we don't even recognise this anymore. The definition of 'geek' for example has changed due to useage. What was once a perjorative term is now accepted by people as defining themselves.
In the US the word Ni@@er was a VERY harsh term for African Americans but it has been changed by the people themselves. They have made it their own word (even changing the spelling by replacing the er with an a).
Even the word "Fan" in this context is short for "Fanatic"; yet the former is common and the later is prujorative.
Otaku is similar in many parts of the world. There is no other word that can define an "Anime Fan" quite the same way as Otaku. Most people who use the word are not talking about the creepy, over-the-top, types like the guy that Keiichi introduces Belldandy to in the early Mangas. He knows every voiceactor, every release date, and does nothing but watch TV.
It's a matter of degree. A football fan can be anyone from the guy who likes to watch a game on Sunday to the nut who paints their faces and screams drunkely from his season-ticket seats.
Otaku is similar. Some of us just love Anime/Managa... some of us are insane/obsessed by it, but we all are Otaku together.

I admit I'm otaku. But, I don't go to the point of memorizing stuff.
As for the uniform costume, I don't like the traditional kind like the one on the site. I'd wear a cute one, and preferably the spring/summer outfit. Winter looks okay, but not that special. Although I like the vest + rolled up shirt combination.
And... I admit that I roll up my skirt. Long skirts are very yankee and medium skirts are just way too conservative to be cute.
Personally, I think that uniforms should be worn in America too >_> To show which school we're from and, it's better than seeing all the ... Indecency around here. (I think elementary/preschool kids in their uniforms are SOO cute. I still have a picture of me in my preschool uniform. It was such a cute little thing. Even the yellow hat we had to wear <3)

[color=purple]Personally, I don't want an otaku boyfriend anymore.
We can share the all the same interest possible but NOT anime and/or manga.
Having a boyfriend means endless sweet messages, conversations and moments but based from my personal experience, almost all we talk about is anime DVD/VCD/CD, manga, cosplay, otaku/anime magazines, anime/manga-related sites, anime/manga download sites and anime goodies stores...
Of course I love anime/manga and sharing that with someone you like is bliss... but too much of it can be over-bearing.
There are sweet times too but it's only 20% in the whole period that we were together.

but i'm so sure if we were to wear uniforms in America, we wouldn't want to. i have a few friends in private school who hate having to wear a uniform to school everyday, they rather be able to wear the cute clothes they buy that's usually gathering dust in their closets, etc etc.
