i would recommend Nabari no Ou its a ninja theme and Fairy Tail it has pirates in it but its not that pirate-y(?) BUT is a personal favorite 😀

possibly Rave Master if you are looking more for a serious comedy, but samuri I would say Vagabond or Sidooh are pretty good they are on the mature side, but really good any way....if your looking for something more shounen I second nabari no ou....

i'd recommend rurouni kenshin if you're looking for more shounen based and vagabond if you're more seinen based

Kurogane is a fun one that's a bit off the beaten path. Might be a little slower and less fantastical than what you're looking for though.
