I guess you can start by reading shounen-ai titles first? I don't know...
Why don't you try stuff by HOSHINO Lily.

Try totally captivated it has a yakuza theme just like finder but has a 16+ rating. ( It was one of the first yaoi I read)

Have you read any shounen-ai before?

If you haven't, I suggest you start there.

If you have, Happy-Go-Lucky Days might be the best way to go.

Do you want some good yaoi recommendations? Finder is not a good start. There's countless Yaoi mangas that follows the same cliche. Reading random yaoi titles will slowly kill you [not literally!].
Seconding Kayazala's post. That's one of the best yaoi out there, with a plot!

Also try..
The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese - Yaoi with drama and sexual tension.
Lovers Doll - this one is really good, the cover pic is a bit misleading, actual sex only happened at the end of the series.
May Miracle is a good yaoi comedy one-shot.
50 x 50..Yaoi with bisexual characters.
Mousou Elektel - this one has all the cliche but the mangaka did well in using them as plot device. I adore this.
Bannin Good psychological yaoi.
If you want some good 'hardcore' rape yaoi, Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu is a good one.

This may be awful to say, but NANBARA Ken's Papa to Kiss in the Dark was my intro to BL manga and anime...

Maybe try some... TAKEMIYA Lala or TAKANAGA Hinako

Little Butterfly is GREAT!

Finder is definitely not a good start, especially if you're "against it" as you say.

This thread could help - click
Just try searching for more slice of life, romance oriented titles.

@Brucie
Although very good, The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese is not very beginner friendly, either...
Neither is Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu.

LOL what's up with you guys!
Most people need to ease into new things, not smash into them. 🤣

My friend's first yaoi was Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu and that made her hooked into yaoi stuff. 🙂

Yome ni Konai ka is funny as hell.

hmmm...try NATSUME Isaku-sensei's works...the sex scenes are not very graphic(for me) and most of her works are comedy...even my MALE otaku friend, who is definitely not into yaoi, liked her works...start with Tight Rope...X3
