Your first yaoi/yuri/ or shounen-ai/shoujo-ai~
Quote from CyberOblivion
The first one I read was Complex, it's a yaoi and a Shounen Ai, according to MU.
You finished it? O:
Technically this is the first yaoi I've read as well, but I don't count it as much, I skipped those scenes...just read it for the amazing plot.

Wow. thinks really hard
Yaoi/shounen-ai: I can't remember the exact one, unfortunately. I know I started out reading manga with a few shoujo titles, but after that I soon found shounen-ai/yaoi and never went back. I watched anime first (Okane ga Nai, Sensitive Pornographic) and then started with stuff like The Prince of Usagi, Only You (FUJIOMI Karen), Dorobou to Keiji, Private Prince (ASATO Eiri), Minami no Kuni no Oujisama, and Koiha Ina Mono Mouna Mono. Some Haruka Minami, Chitose Piyoko, and Takanaga Hinako as well. Just random stuff, whatever I found that sounded interesting. ^^ I wish I could remember my first yaoi/shounen-ai manga, and I know it's one of the above ones mentioned, but oh well. Maybe it's Usagi?
First (and almost only) yuri/shoujo-ai was the She-wolf oneshot in Haru Natsu Aki Fuyu. I'm not much of a yuri fan.

My first yuri/shouji-ai..............hm...................on the tip of my tongue.................. there we go.
I thought it was mai-hime the anime, but found out it wasn't yuri nor shojo-ai. So, my first yuri ever was (drum roll) Kannazuki no Miko the anime. I walked up on it by looking at a song from mai-hime called "It's only the fairy tale" and it had clips of this anime. But my first yuri manga ever was Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakurairo.
I'm sorry yaoi fans haven't gotten around to them.
Would I lie to you?

I got introduced to shonen-ai through webcomics. There's some interesting stuff out there, and I really like the experience of reading webcomics - you can form a relationship with the author (especially on the less-read comics, which is what most of these were) and even make some connections in the business. I got my first and only published doujin oneshot printed in the back of the comic it was based on when the woman who drew the comic published it with an indie comic publisher.
Even the first shonen-ai I owned was a webcomic. It was the hard copy of the first story arc of Honeydew Syndrome. After that I bought Gravitation because it was the only shonen-ai the store had.
I was introduced to yaoi through doujinshi. The very first actual yaoi I ever read, for some strange reason, was the Narusasu dj 15-Sai Hakusho. But I honestly have no idea when I started reading every vaguely m/m thing that came my way...
The first shoujo-ai I ever read was Oniisama e.... I avoided it for a long time despite it being by one of the most illustrious mangaka of all time (and a personal favorite) because of the stigma I had attached to the genre back then. I'm glad I changed my mind, because it's currently among my favorite series ever.
I can't remember what my first yuri manga was, but I'm pretty positive it was some lame oneshot translated by Lililicious.

For me it was The Tarot Cafe, but since shonen-ai wasn't the main theme of the series, i didn't pay that much attention to it. i didn't even know that there was such genre at the time.
(but i still got hooked to the sultan mini-story, which was the most shonen-ai short story in there, i was a natural-born yaoi fangirl)
The first series that introduced me to the yaoi genere was Hana Kimi, which is funny because that series is NOT a yaoi or shonen-ai at all!
I started to read Shonen-ai and Yaoi seriously with A Night of a Thousand Dreams, but i was still so innocent though. I was like "hmm i wonder what that ointment-looking gel is" (i found out the truth not few days later) 🤣

Yaoi: Kaze to Ki no Uta, with the translations on a piece of lined paper. XP
It was Only the Ring Finger Knows that got me hooked on BL, though.
As for yuri/shoujo-ai, it was one old-school classic or another. I don't remember which one.

I can't remember my first yaoi...the title I mean. It had two guys on the cover, eating ice cream or something. And some guy was on a train with an uke...then the uke ends up doing some guy he encounters and yeah....If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd really like to know the title of it. It was more or less hardcore, but definitely a huge step from what I read before.
After getting into yaoi, I gradually got into shounen-ai, then yuri and shoujo-ai.

My first yaoi manga was either Hoshigarimasen! Katsumade wa or Oshioki Gakuen, I can't remember which.
My first shounen-ai manga was Loveless.
(Speaking of Loveless, any one know when volume nine comes out in the U.S?)
My first yuri manga was a Sailor Moon doujinshi, I don't remember the name but I know it was a Uranus/Neptune one.
And my first shoujo-ai manga was Strawberry Panic!, which I didn't watch/read til like a year or so ago.
