Plot/ Story/ Characters
Pastel is an interesting Romantic, Comedy about the growing relationship between potential half-brother and half-sister. The story starts of as a typical "boy meets girl and then they somehow end up living together" but after the first couple initial volumes it just drags on with random stuff for 10 volumes, with the main relationship not developing at all. The only thing that keeps the story interesting during this time are the hilarious antics the characters get themselves into and the other relationships that develop in the time.

Drawing Style
The artwork is good enough for a rom/com with superb details on the environments however the character design are plain especially the male protagonist and the girls are sometimes hard to tell apart, due to their similar facial features. At least the characters have noticeably different personalities and most of them, not only the main guy and girl, are well developed.

Overall/ Enjoyment
I thought this romantic comedy had some potential of being one of my faves, but that was ruined once the mangaka decided to drag on the story for ages. Not only is the story dragged on but it's full of every single type of cliche I can think of but at least it had plenty of jokes and the story is finally starting to get back on track around Volume 12.

Pastel is really just a manga for Rom/Com lovers and even if you enjoy Rom/Coms you would either find this one; uninteresting, decent or really enjoyable. It is best to give it a try and find out for yourself.

srry but i don't agree with u there. this manga is one of my favorites and it's a simple manga about real life for those who wants it although the whole "the girl i have a crush on lives with me" is not everything else is what u can expect out of normal everyday life which some ppl happen to enjoy reading.

I am shocked. Shocked and appalled. I cannot even begin to imagine how someone could confuse Parallel, a manga by Kobayashi Toshihiko about a short stupid failure of a male protagonist who falls for a girl, and then comes home to find that she will now be living with him while the parents go into 'manga absentee parent' mode; their romance nearly begins to develop but is interrupted by the girl's sister's arrival; rom/com hijinks ensue, and Pastel, a manga by Kobayashi Toshihiko about a short stupid failure of a male protagonist who falls for a girl, and then comes home to find that she will now be living with him while the parents go into 'manga absentee parent' mode; their romance nearly begins to develop but is interrupted by the girl's sister's arrival; rom/com hijinks ensue.

seriously though, it is not terrible and the art is pretty cute

pastel is one of my favorite mangas so i can't say that i liked your review and i agree that the story get draged for ages however it's that what makes the story interesting because while you are reading you are always asking yourself if this is the chapter that they will get togheter and the whole supense about that is what make you read besides is not a easy task to a mangaka to drag the story for 12 vol whithout a quikly developement to the main couple so the plot of the manga is very good.

ps:sorry if i am not making sense but i'm angry so ..

No idea where this reviewer came up with the comment about "potential half-brother and half-sister"; there's certainly nothing at all in the series hinting that the boy and girl are related.

They do tell their friends and neighbors they're related, but that's just a story to explain why they're living together; the only actual connection between them is that the girls' deceased father was a close friend and colleague of the boy's father.
