this piece is certainly different from any other by this author. wheres the rape? wheres the loli love? wheres the mayhem and murder?
well, just because it is not the usual fare, doesnt mean it is bad. i think they are pretty neat, though some of them are too conventional and mundane. but some is also very good and beautiful in their own way. especially the last story, it evoked the feeling of lost and the disappearance of innocence.
all in all, if you are always squicked out by the author's other work, this is a good one to start with.

Beautiful, in many different ways. The first story, Summer Heat, is almost chilling in its subtle reference to incest. Meanwhile the last, Pochi's Place, is a wonderful piece of mono no aware and the dangers of literal thinking.
