It Could have been Good

And I could have been a mahou shojou, but I am not likely to become one anytime soon nor do I see this manga possessing any redeeming features.
The manga tries to be funny and fails miserably at it. I guess if the art was a bit better and there existed a narrative flow it could have been funnier?
Though I am living to concede that there are certain points at which it is funny, but I wonder if it is not so because of how bad it is.
The only thing which I find actually find interesting is the pairing and their circumstances. Now that's something you don't see often, so high points for originality.

It wasnt bad. Nice art, setting was okay. Characters kinda likable. But i dunno,....the couple was kinda too sweet together or something....kinda too stupid and too much in love,....it feels weird....i may forget it soon....the h scenes were good but thats all....i may have put a lower rating, but the art was good and it did end well....feels flat somehow....anyway if u are bored give it a try!!

It was cute and funny, and the story touched on so many details within the characters and their lives that can be explained on another chapter on it own. For example, their high school lives could've been its own manga. The semes life would've been interesting with more story behind it. That's why I said it was weirdish, and man do I love the chibi penises lol

dont read this if you want any drama because there is none whatsoever in here. this is just about two very in love guys doing lovey dovey stuff with each other. sure. theres some 'conflict' but you can hardly call them that when they are all over each other! the sex is at least once per chapter, quite graphic but you dont feel hot and heavy since their actions are too comedic and cute.

really enjoy this, i recommend to anyone who want to have a laugh at a cute couple.

It's comedy! It's supposed to be ridiculous in both the problems the characters go through and the way they attempt to solve them. And the manga does it rather well.
I had fun reading it, the art is very good and it's just comedic and light hearted with a happy end!
As long as you don't expect seriousness out of it, it's worth reading.

banal blandness

it's not a particularly bad story, it progresses pretty well; the art is crisp and vibrant, and i like amagi's sense of humour -- and yet i don't care at all for the characters and their lives, and had a hard time even finishing this. this is how i generally feel about amagi's stories; the art outperforms the storytelling by a lightyear. here we have a young couple who's just started to live together, and they're going through some adjustments -- this could be interesting! and yet somehow it feel like everything is made from papiermache. they have problems, but i feel no angst; just ennui at how annoyingly selfish they are about communicating their issues to each other (i dislike toriko's behaviour more than rui's, but rui is by no means blameless). some of those issues are real -- wanting to do more with your partner than have sex, wanting to be consulted on how one's living space is arranged, wanting to feel like you're trusted, etc. but somehow the treatment doesn't feel real to me.

instead it feels like -- oh yeah, like those people who complain that their loved one leaves the toilet seat up and squeezes the toothpaste in the middle. you know, utterly banal "problems" which no sensible adult would work up a sweat over. i realise there are many people for whom these "problems" are actual concerns, but frankly, i don't associate with them because their stupid might rub off on me -- in the grand scheme of life toilet seats and tooth paste don't matter at all.

that's how this story made me feel, as if they're piddling their supposed love away on stuff that is completely immaterial to living a fulfilling life and loving one another with care and compassion. it's all on the surface and doesn't even sink in a millimeter.

What fun! Although not as awesome as Oni ni Hatsujou, this one is still very enjoyable! It's really funny, has a great story, loveable and unique characters, is very sexy, and is plotted with talent! Plus, Amagi-sensei's art is just so sparkly, sharp and vividly emotive! And the adorableness of the baby added to their little man-man family--some of the art in that chapter was absolutely the sweetest!

It's a little more fun-spirited, and never gets as serious as my favourite title by Amagi-sensei does at times. It lacks the drama, suspense and angst of Oni ni Hatsujou, but that is only my preference for those 'sadistic/masochistic' type stories.
