Description
God abandoned the world on Sunday. As a result, nobody in the world can die or reproduce. A little girl, Ai, is the gravekeeper for a village. She has prepared 47 graves for the eventual deaths of every member of the village. Later, a boy who identifies himself as "Hampnie Hambart, the 'Man-eating Toy'," which is coincidentally the name that Ai's mother left behind as the name of her father, arrives in the village and slaughters everybody. Just what is going on?

This manga is actually rather good. Alot of people don't seem to like it but... meh. And some of their comments about it are totally wrong.
Give it a chance. It'll make you a bit sad at the end, but overall its a really good read and by no means is it "fluffy"

The story told in this manga is no way can be called gripping. Light is also not the word. Floating might be the correct term, as you can't easily grasp (1) what's the idea and why it's interesting, (2) what's happening and why we have to care, (3) who's the actors and why we have to follow or understand them. And since they're like floating in the cloud, you can't take home anything. It's as if nothing had ever happened.
Perhaps the cause is over-confidence from the author side. We are expected to just take in everything being told in first few chapters -- bit of background here, and bit of background there -- and we have to accept them as foundation, however fleeting they are. And after those quizzical chapters, bam, suddenly big thing happening: a killing spree! "Wait, what!?" Those chapters have yet succeeded telling us what's important, and they neither succeeded in rousing our interest. Fundamentally, we are not ready for new thing. Yet they suddenly it takes the center stage!
This is a sad attempt to create disruptive drama. If they're done with much finesse, I might read a bit more; it might be captivating later on. However, this manga passes to me as beginner-ish, frustratingly poor-told.

the story is good, and pretty close adaptation to the novel. The anime, though, completely messed up the personality of the characters, despite the beautiful art.
I really like the theme, about a broken world and hopes/miracles which are scattered. A journey of a girl in pursuing her dream. there will be hurdles and struggles, as few believe she there is actually a path toward it, let alone believing whether she could achieve her dream.
it's a story of a girl who struggles to continue to hold onto her dream

after reading all 21 chapters (the latest update), both of the main characters really do improve. it might be confusing at first and everything seemed illogical. but in later chapters, the reason of every actions the MCs took will be all revealed. and in the end I came to love both Ai and Hampnie. so don't judge it too early. it's a good manga with a good concept. i recommend you all to read it.

Interesting concept and the art is very attractive (on the cute side), but for the life of me I cant grasp what is going on. Random dialogue, random situations which seem to lead to nowhere. This manga is the worst novel adaption I ve seen in a while -_-"

From a human perspective, it doesn't make any sense. Maybe it's the translation or maybe the author just isn't used to adapting novels, but the characterization in this manga is simply atrocious.
Sometimes i even have a hard time following the conversations because it just doesn't make any sense.
I hope the novel it is based on isn't this ridiculous.
The art is good but it has been a while since i read something this confusing and poorly structured.

The great thing about Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi is that there is some wonderful, great world-building going on, and the author seems to know exactly where he's going with this manga. There's really a whole bunch of interesting stuff going on here, and while the mysteries are prevalent, they aren't all-consuming or confusing to the point of exasperation.
It's really, really, exceedingly obvious that this manga was adapted from a novel. The mangaka knows exactly where this is going and how the story is going to end up there. However, therein lies the problem. While it's all well and good for a novel to write whole chapters on the bonding between "father" and "daughter," when the manga does it, it ends up being a bit boring. And, there's really no visible character development that results from it.
Regardless, this is still a really interesting read, with some of the most unique ideas I've ever seen employed in manga. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how this will all pan out.

Some interesting concepts and scenes. But the relationships between characters are poorly done to say the least.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
From the weird relationship between the girl and her two "parents" in the beginning where the girl who said she was going to be her mother loved her in one moment and was jealous the next, acted like she disliked the kid and embraced her like a mother the next.
Then the worst is the girl with the man eating toy. That one is just laughable. "Good sir, you've killed my whole village. You literally slaughtered everyone I have ever know, everyone I could have ever called friend and even two people who were like my parents. You used me as bait and shot in cold blood a man who died to protect me. But sir, you are very kind. Yup you are really very kind! So as I like you I will now follow you on your journey and care about you because that's what people do with guys who slaughter all their friends and family." That sounds logical.

I really never expected such a dramatic plot twist. o_o I really liked the fluffy, slice-of-life type beginning, but that plot twist makes it all better...
It does get confusing, but I highly suggest plowing through it and then thinking about the plot. The whole setting of the manga is based on irony. The selfless, nice person is actually a selfish, mean person. The selfish, mean person is actually a selfless, nice person. It's set in a world where people can't die yet at the same time die, so you'd have to expect this much. Just don't base your judgement on first impressions of characters but rather what the characters prove themselves to be. For instance, Hampnie can be subject to much criticism because of his actions, but if you read on, you'll find that your first impressions of him will be changed. [For better or for worse, I guess that's up to you.] Ai's adoptive family may seem caring and loving, but if you pay attention to the details, they'll prove to be different. [Likewise, for better or worse, it's up to you.]
Ai plays a crucial role as the normal, sane observer who views everything in the point of view of a normal person who is thrown into a world of abnormality. [Though it's ironic that she's actually an abnormal person, but that's besides the point.] If you focus on her observations and think in her point of view, things should click into place. After all, we are normal readers who are reading about an abnormal world, just like she is a normal character living in an abnormal world.
tl;dr
Don't read everything in a 2 dimentional, straight forward way. Don't cast your judgements too early. Remember that everything is ironic in this story.
But congratulations on getting an anime, Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi! You really deserve it uwu

From what I've read, Hampnie killed Ai's adoptive parents because they were bad people who were forcing Ai into the life of Gravekeeping. Gravekeeping is a despicable career, but Ai doesn't know that. In order to protect Ai from this lifestyle, Hampnie killed off everyone in Ai's village. If you look closely, the villagers despised Ai and only pretended to care for her. Hampnie, on the other hand, pretended to despise Ai but actually cares for her. Hampnie's character is pretty tricky, because he puts up a mean, oppressive, and almost evil demeanor but cares for others. This is probably because of the fact that he has the ability to come to life again after death, but that part's just a speculation.
