at first when I read the summary, I was like "ew no way... another smut/yaoi thing." But if that's what you're thinking, then you're wrong! It's actually more like a series of short stories about life and love, written very realistically. There' arehilarious moments and then there are deep, touching moments. And each story is suprisingly bittersweet.
It's also kind of like a character study. Esp. in volume 2 when the chapters start talking more about the main guy, Maki. So interesting!!! I wish the group had already finished scanlating because I really, really need to read more.
It's not that shoujo to me, because it's a lot more serious than a typical shoujo work. It goes beyond the cliche boy-girl love thing... it's just - really realistic and deep. Just give it a try.
The art is also pretty. <3
Edit: From some later chapters I can tell you it's so sad.... -sniff- but in a really good way. I've seen Izumi's other works and this one is a little more bittersweet. I love it though!!! And don't worry, it's not sappy or anything, or even depressing. It's just... sad, but good. The kind to make you tear up and smile at the same time.

It's definitely not my type BUT I perfectly enjoyed it^^...it's super hilarious XD and yeah..if u want to find some light read(with a potential of serious) this manga should be given a try...the art is not that pretty..lol I don't like the type which make handsome guys look big..I much prefer the main character..he's cute :3 although there's the AAA guy but I don't think he's that handsome(I just don't like the type of art that make guys with big body)
Although I enjoy it thoroughly, I decided I'll not continue this manga..just isn't my type >_> I think people who like Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and School Rumble will like this manga

I was afraid to read this at first. It didn't seem like the type of manga I would like. But the author was the mangaka of Doubt!, and that made me at least try it out. BOY AM I GLAD TO HAVE READ THIS. This manga is outrageously funny, and you can really sympathize with the guys. I didn't expect any depth to a story with a description like the one above, but this just blew me away. I liked how the mangaka put the drama in the parts where I felt it the most. I think this'll make it to the top of my list too. XD
Manages to be both funny and serious. Good art, and cross-demographics appeal..

Frankly speaking, I don't mind shonen-ai, but I like that this story is not a shonen-ai, with only some hints at a side character swinging that way. Add to this the chosen protagonist and POV... it's a refreshing reading.
As said in Celine's comment, the humour may be slightly stereotypical, but it works pretty well (if the opinion of a female reader counts ;P ) and the serious moments are quite well handled to boot.
I've suggested this title to both shonen and seinen lovers, male and female readers, as it's licensed in my country, and most of them loved it, even in case of people usually avoiding shoujos.
@Bimbosilly: I dont know where you live, but please be careful with the blanket statements about how guys and girls are supposed to behave.. I'm a het girl but can appreciate the bounciness of natural breasts as much as the next guy XDD and it's not that uncommon for girls to appreciate and/or compare breast sizes and body shapes of fellow girls... as boys can do with penis size and built of fellow males (truefax XD )T. Just sayin'.
Under such aspects this manga is quite relatable and believable .

This is a really good manga, though it tends to be more towards comedy than romance/drama. The excellent humor probably more than makes up for this, though, as do the incredible bishies! XDXDXD Not to mention that the art is just lovely in general. ^^ Personally, I really enjoy the slightly stereotypical male-boarding-school humor, but it might not appeal to some people. Regardless, it's a must-read, if you're looking for something relatively light and enjoyable, (or are hankering for some bishie-ness! XD) Man, I almost wish it would be shounen-ai, though... TT__TT
Edit: What's really exciting now about the manga is the main character's history.. I won't say anymore, really, because it will definitely spoil it, but it's really interesting how we slowly find out more and more about Maki's past. He's a really awesome guy, and so cute, and Izumi-sensei makes us really, really empathize with and understand his feelings. The manga gets a little more dramatic at times, but not so much that you don't lose that lovely comedy flavor. Really, the more I learn, the more I want to keep reading this manga--it's a really nice, light one, and there actually *is* some romance/love in it!
