New Poll - Sailor Moon
This week's poll is from OrchardPetalLullaby. I basically chose it in honor of the newly announced Sailor Moon series. However, I've personally never watched it myself, so I know exactly how I'm gonna vote!

I was always rather found of Sailor Jupiter. She seemed so strong and stylish. I hate her constant change of who she likes though. I don't think I noticed it as much when I was a child so it was okay.

Besides the occasional yuri oneshot, I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon.
I've seen pics floating around the internet (which is pretty unavoidable if you're into manga/anime), but the whole super-hero thing has never been my thing.
I guess I don't mind the girl with the short blue hair?
She looks like she could be fun. ;p
I do know the manga has had an anniversary re-issue recently(?),
which included updated art.
But I know this only because I follow okazu's blog...
I voted never watched/read, which seems to be the majority's vote so far.

I chose Sailor Mars. I always thought she was cool and I definitely had a crush on her when I was a kid. Even now she's the type of girl I could see myself dating.

Ah, Mercury. Although the quality on YouTube is lacking since I saw that AMV user's original version and he did fuss over quality even when it was harder to achieve.

I picked Sailor Pluto. I liked how she was alone because she had the duty to control the gate that controls time traveling? (Also that she can somewhat control time and space? ehhh it's been a while)

I've never watched it. I saw it shown on TV when I was a kid but it never really got my interest.

Surprised by the votes.
I watched it before but I never really cared for it. When I first saw it was when it was part of a Toonami lineup that included Rurouni Kenshin, Yuyu Hakusho, and DBZ so I always considered it the weakest of the bunch. Although, I have been told that the dubbed version is completely inferior to the original, so that was probably it.
I may try the new anime out, maybe~

Did see some episodes years ago but was a German dub and I have never cared much for mahou shoujo anime's. Not when there was OP and DB/DBZ on later time slots to watch.

I've never actually watched Sailor Moon, but I'm somewhat aware of the characters.
The reason I haven't watched/read it is because it's a bit too old and the style puts me off a bit, so when I heard there was a reboot, I was all over it because I did want to get into the series. So I'm definitely going to watch it over the summer. (I was gutted when they pushed it back the first time lol)

Yeah... like many others I've only seen on the television when I was young, so not really watched; but as I recall there was some masked guy with a rose? (if I recall correctly, that guy was my favorite ^^)

Sailor Mars is probably my all time favorite. I also love Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Uranus.
For those of you who only saw this show as a kid, I recommend watching it again. I re-watched it as an adult and still loved the series as much as I loved it back then. Re-watching the series is what got me into watching anime as an adult.

I dunno about that. You may still like it but I've known many people who go back and watch it, ending up saying "what did I like about that show?" I'm one of them. I always liked Sailor Mercury though. At least one of them has a good head on her shoulders and aren't controlled by their raging hormones. Well, maybe the latter sailor scouts did but I never made it beyond season 1 so...

When I re-watched it, it was also my first time watching the Japanese version rather than the American one. So I enjoyed seeing the show as it was meant to be, rather than the censored version.

Sometimes that makes a difference. Cardcaptor Sakura was definitely better when I tried the Japanese version. Well, I still can't take the main characters' love story seriously because they're too young but the true relationship between Yukito and Touya made everything make sense. Not everyone is comfortable with shounen-ai but it was so non-explicit and slowly developed it wasn't that big of a deal.

I chose Sailor Saturn. I was pretty young when the series aired (I saw the anime first, read manga later) but back then I think my favourites were Sailor Mercury and Sailor Uranus, I think. Later on Sailor Pluto was pretty cool too. It's been so long I can't remember very clearly how I thought about them though...

Well, I like all of them (even though it took me awhile to tolerate and eventually like Chibiusa >.>...)

The fact that the votes, for the senshi, are so low really gets to me. I'm surprised the majority of the votes go to "I never watched / read Sailor Moon". Hopefully the votes for the senshi will raise seeing as how out of the 13 options, besides the before mentioned, sailor moon is winning with a 10.2%, it's so low.

I chose "I never watched / read Sailor Moon" because, while technically true, I am VAGUELY familiar with the series, I just don't remember which ones were the lesbians. I would have voted for them if I had.

I have a daughter, and we went through a lot of the VHS tapes back in the day (as in before DVDs). I found it more than a little mind-numbing.
