Ring finger, then pinky. I ain´t getting married and the pinky actually does stuff, outside of balancing out the hand.
I have slight nerve damage in my right pinky btw. after an army knife snapped shut right over it when I was a teen. It didn't hurt and the knife went right down to the bone like butter.
Cool stuff. I don´t even regret it.

Edit: Losing the left one is preferable but not a dealbreaker. Especially as I would look more spooky when shaking hands.

I was about to vote pinky when I realized I was using it to secure the grasp of the phone at the bottom. The pinky is more independent than the ring and it widens the range of the hand.

Good luck using hotkeys and playing multiplayer shooters or strategy games well on the PC if you lose your left pinky.

I accept your reasoning. I need that left pinky for pc gaming. I think my right hand pinky would be the one. I seem to use my ring finger on the right hand more to type and move my mouse while my right pinky floats most of the time

The order of options is bringing out the OCD in me. ?

I'd pick the ring finger on my non-dominant hand. Rings can be placed on any finger, and I'd rather keep my better hand intact.

I originally entered the options in a certain order, and then the code just scrambled the order. It's too annoying to go into the system to fix the order ><

the hell kind of question is this lmao, why do i have to lose a finger? ?
it'll be between the ring or the pinky, regardless of which one it will be, the remaining one will serve as a replacement for the other. in that case i think keeping the ring finger would be more useful.
so the pinky it is.

I was originally gonna choose the pinky..
But it feels like I'm from a yakuza manga where they usually lose their pinkies..
Hahaha.. I know my reason are lame and not related..

In the end I chose the middle finger.. ? ? ?

I could never chose the middle finger and lose a way to easily express my hate to someone or the world.

Most votes are for the pinky...
They think, because it's the smallest, it's the least important one. The one they'd miss, the least.
Most people don't realise the importance of the pinky, how much it does, or how much strength and control it has, how much leverage...
The ring finger, on the other hand, doesn't really do much, and has very little independent control or strength.

My right hand (dominant) pinky kind of sucks. I don't even type with it most of the time. It hovers or sticks straight out when I hold my phone and coffee cups, too. I however wouldn't give up my left pinky... idk, maybe it's been trained through typing and gaming to be more useful than my right one.

Even as a massive computer nerd, who spends most of his time in front of his computer, I'm kinda disturbed by how computer-only-focused, your reasoning is.
Also, you can learn to use your pinky instead of your ring finger, for the things that you do with your ring finger.
The reverse... simply isn't physically possible.

Eh. I just used it as example most people here can relate to. I don't use my right pinky half the time when I lift things either, which I believe is unusual for people. It's useless in my hobbies of cross-stitch/embroidery and reading books. I don't really use it when cooking or writing either. Left pinky was needed for short-lived guitar playing and holding yarn for crochet/knitting, but my right one doesn't do that much. If I had a hobby of sword fighting or needed to do more heavy lifting in my daily life where that extra grip strength is really important, I'm sure my pinky would be essential to me.

The ring finger has less strength than the pinky only because of its lack of usage. Its theoretical load-bearing capabilities are greater (proportional to size) if you train it.

As far as independence goes, you're absolutely right... except that the dependence is on your pinky rather than on your middle finger. If the ring finger was more obligated to stick to your middle finger than pinky, you'd have a point--but since that isn't the case, the ring finger would naturally take over all responsibilities of the pinky if you lost a pinky. In contrast, feeling the awkward gap while losing a ring finger seems way worse.

I vote for my left pointer cause it is actually long gone and i don`t wanna lose another one....

Yeah I chose the ring finger too, the pinky is much more important than peoplewould think.

Said my pinky because I have reoccuring joint problems with the one on my right hand. Pretty annoying.

thread

» Kitteh_13 on November 13th, 2018, 4:44pm

Why pinky though? You use it to play games and hold things much more than you think. LOL
This poll is the first to get me riled up XD

The fun thing is that most of the comments say the ring.

Ring finger of non-dominant (left) hand.
It's the least used finger in piano, and like others have mentioned, it's the weakest. I'd probably be able to work around it in songs that mostly have the left hand playing chords, even if I have to edit the composition a bit.
And it's not like I'll be getting married anyways lol.

But seriously, losing my fingers in an accident is my worst nightmare.
I would honestly rather lose a leg.
