New Poll - Club
Here's a fun one from nowyat. From the given list, what club would you probably join if you were given this kind of situation? For me personally, I'd totally be in the Computer club. That's one of my passions~ (and my chosen career path)

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):

I think student council and newspaper club should be included in the options.

This is a tough one... Never really thought about this before. I'm really tempted to choose the going home club but I like to think of myself as more interesting than that, lol. I was into photography when I was in high school, though.

Do they have games club? I miss high school days where I would play EDH with the programming teacher and other people. Fun times... I suppose clubs would be more serious in Japan since they seem to need school approval.

I was in my high school's Go Club, and I would still decide to join a Go Club if I was a Japanese student. Probably the Sports Club, too... If I could redo it all under different circumstances, I probably would've joined five clubs instead of two...

I'd probably choose to be in the Arts Club and the Tea Ceremony Club. eyes

Can I choose more than one... please?
I really want to join Literature/arts club, or manga club, and home-economy sounds good.....

Question what does the Going Home Club and Parapsychology Club do anyway?

Quote from Sorcha
Question what does the Going Home Club and Parapsychology Club do anyway?

The going home club just goes home after school it isn't a real club just a joke. The parapsychology club would study ghosts and mental powers. Although I think it would be better to use paranormal club instead as that would include UFOs and other branches of the unknown.

I chose the go home club. Why would I want to spend more time in school instead of going home?

If I had to choose a club though I would choose whichever one had a lot of girls. Home economics would be a good choice. I could make tasty treats and hit on the ladies. cool

I'm certain my plan would blow up in my face somehow. laugh

I can imagine it now... You walk into the club and it's a sausage fest since they all had the same idea you did laugh

"Going home club" is basically another way of saying "no club."

Back in my high school days I would totally go for a computer club. Now I'd opt for Kyuudou or some martial arts club smile

Either sports or photography/computer/astronomy. Well, in reality I'm part of the go-home club lol. Never been part of anything, rarely stayed after school, without interaction at all with classmates. While I absolutely hate PE I guess I did kinda admired it, Japanese high school clubs. Something that is more delicate and not so tough on stamina... I want to try archery >.> lol. It seems fun... Either that or my specialties and interests. Which involves anything that isn't sports and does not require stamina. Brain basically. Yes, jack of all trades master of none, one of those haha. But Photo or Comp most likely.

Basically I wanna try everything, without anyone watching me. Having fun without getting worried or embarrassed, and quitting once I had enough. I can try hard without eyes following and only like that >.>;; I wanna try stuff that I'm known to hate, behind ppl's backs. Curiosity vs embarrassment.

-sigh-... that damn tsunami or whatever explosion or something disaster... my parents were seriously thinking about moving too! T^T Would've been able to actually be one of them if not for those.

Archery sounds awesome and art club too

wish we have more unique club and facilities (yes, my school has club but no facility for them, make a very boring club in class)
useless club, feels more like another lesson at class than club
I flunked mine, skip the club the rest of my school life. since no club is not an option...

I never really care for staying more than required at school, I don't learn anything there. and I see no point of hanging around at school, waste of time.

really, the major I am taking in university require me to learn from almost 0 knowledge
I am taking art

art class in school is basically, draw some random pattern....looks like some cloth pattern, with all diagonal, square stuff. oh, I don't get those in high school.
computer class... excel,ms office thing. useless too...

Waste almost my whole life at school.

I'd go with the Arts club. Thats sounds like a lot of fun.
I do like computers and such but I don't think I'd like to be in a club about it. Seems pretty dull and not too sure what the club activities would be for it tbh.

Although here (where I live) I was in the "going home club" I would of joined a computer club if there was one that was... Well... Decent. Closest I had was an idiot trying to get sponsors to start something similar when he knew nothing about technology or software in the first place.. =x So I kind of skipped out on that since I could do better alone with the internet...

That or "The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture" sounds nice. >.>;

I voted for Math/Science club because that'd be my third choice. Is there no martial arts club or music club?

I am currently head of my school's karate club and loving it! And everyone who remembers me from the days when I posted in the forums very often should know that I love music too.

Hm, the amount of people choosing manga club is lower than I would have expected considering how this is a manga site... Looks like twice as many people would rather just go home. Oh well, better to go home and to actually read manga than to sit in a club wasting time talking about it, huh?

Anyway, out of those listed, I'd pick the tea ceremony club. I don't really know anything about tea ceremony, but it would probably be fun, and more importantly I love tea of pretty much any kind. Any club with lots of tea sounds good to me.

My second choice (though it's not listed), would be calligraphy club. Though I don't know much about calligraphy either, it looks very nice and I'd like to try doing it myself.

The benefit of picking a manga club rather than going home is two-fold..

1. You can read things other people may bring in an a shared collection (if there was a room for it) and other such things without having to go out and buy something you may not like.. (Can also be done at libraries and other places now though I guess)

2. If you read things online you can have the benefit of reading it in hand.. It doesn't make a huge difference in most manga but some it's a big deal.. Having it.. Well, I haven't come across anything where it's as important as things from Alan Moore (western comics) for owning an actual copy but still..

If the plot is decent, Does it really matter how old a character looks?

As for this new poll, I would be in the literature or arts club.

Probably be the "Going Home" club XD

I mean, I used to be into sports back in high school, but I don't think I would actually keep up with it, and they seem pretty serious with their sports, so I have a feeling I would opt for the lazy option lol.
Plus, nothing beats knowing you can collapse on your bed after a long day at school. Well, for me anyway... Still nice knowing that's waiting for me when I come home from work or Uni these days too XD

A sports club, most definitely. I'm an avid sports fan and I'll probably like the atmosphere and commoderie that the club might display. It's also my way of expressing myself after a stressful and demanding day at school.

The music club would be my second choice if I had one.

thread

» deadhoney on July 24th, 2012, 6:02am

Woah that's a though question. I think it depends on the way the clubs are lead or in which state they are. I used to belong to an theater club at my old school so that would be fine. But I guess I'd be in for the basketball or literature club aswell and of course if the clubs aren't managed well I'd join the infamous going-home-club.

There are 3 clubs that I want to be in:

Sports club (Im a Volleyball player when I was in High school)
Arts Club (For sure, I'll be in this club)
Music club (I just love playing instruments like Xylophone in Lyre frame and learn to play Violin)

So far, I can't decide! bigrazz

I'm in robot club right now, but I'm in college.... Anyway, through my experiences here, I conclude that going to clubs would reduce my free time to non-existence. Thus if I was a high schooler, I'd be in go-home club (If clubs are not mandatory anyway. If it is then maybe kyuudou?).

thread

» kaloo on July 26th, 2012, 9:02pm

Well, in reality I was in a Science Club and a robotics club, so that's what I did.

I was also in the "Math Club" but that was just taking a few extra tests each year.
