I'm missing the option; "Hard training until you fall dead." The best part of sport series most of the time, certainly if their is a "peep on the girls scene" included. cool

The beach chapters are also fun, however reality is otherwise, the good looking ones have to much clothing on. And the ones that really needed to stay in clothes are running around almost naked.
Bad experience gives nightmares... none
Off course in mange is it vice versa. wink

I would vote b) NONE as all those options are tired old cliches. Occasionally they take the cliche and change something about it to make it interesting, but I haven't seen it often.

First time in a poll where i like all the options. Really, i like all those things (specially festivals (...) and the cicada background...) when the manga is on the summer season. But in RL is not my fav, is the one i dislike the most... But in manga is so nice... and winter too! xD

All options are annoying clichés.

I totally like the ghost stories in hot weather option. Contrary to our winter Halloween, in Japan ghost stories are supposed to cool you down, with fright, in the summer. They have the fun games like 100 Candles, (you can just use 13) where each participant tells a scary story and blows out a candle causing the room to slowly grow darker; when all the candles are out a ghost is supposed to appear.

Kokkuri San is another, similar to our Ouiji board. Two people sit both holding onto a pen on top of a paper with the Japanese alphabet, hirigana, written out on it. Then the pen, held by both people, begins to move at the direction of neither of them spelling out the answer to any question you ask. Being scared is definitely more fun in the summer. ;P (I have to say, Japanese ghost stories are particularly gruesome.)

You can play Kokkuri at home by writing the letters of the alphabet on sticky memo pads and placing them in a circle, then turning a glass upside down on the table in the middle and having at least two people place their fingers on it.

I sense my poll suggestion won't be a big hit again. Off to work on a bikini poll. Whatever sells, I say. wink

Hear cicadas, similar to a cricket, here--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nll9bmPmHVQ

Usually the summer arc makes me go "EH!!!? IT'S GONNA BE BORING FOR A WHILE -___- "

Where is the "Seasons don't need to have something special" option? I don't really care what season the series is in, unless it is plot device (e.g. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe)

I hate summer plots. Once you've seen one festival/ghost story telling/test of courage/beach/pool/hot springs scene, you've seen 'em all.

Imagine my surprise when I went to watch the second season of Haruhi... *shudder*

*blank stare*

...

...! Anyway, I suppose if I had a preference, I'd choose summer home plots? Yeah, it still aggravates me that -magically- their's always one secretly (or not) rich kid that has access to a summer home with a private beach. And yeah, it aggravates me that it's hardly ever explained how these main characters convinced their parents that having a gaggle of hormone-fueled high-schoolers live it up at a secluded beach house -unchaperoned- is a good idea...

But!

hmmm...

Ugh.... on second thought, never mind. Summer plots suck.
