Nope. It's cool to read. Sometimes to literally but good though. The Drawings are very good. Often. Not always. But their editor should tell them that the story is very stiff. a bit too stylish and designed. I miss something special. I could say that REC with the idea of ...

I definitely count gantz to my all-time-favorite mangas. Oku had balls to let kurono die. It made sense. Kurono isn't a freudian Übermensch at all. The story grew over the time. I mean hey it started with sex gore splatter violence action

Nope i think you are wrong harmonious. It was not ruining the whole series. it gave it more depth in story elements and especially in the characters.
Of course it is a break! i think the author have to kept the excitement up.
anyway i think REC is a good series!
