I've read Beauty Pop and Switch Girl!! (dropped that one). I read Kuragehime. The makeover theme is pretty strong in Kuragehime and Beauty Pop, so I'm not sure if you'll think this one is focused much on it; but it's definitely a good shoujo manga about change in looks.

I read D-Frag and Yan Kan so I kinda know what you want. Yan Kan got serious recently though

From what I read, I can only say Fujimura-Kun Mates, and Hinamatsuri. I read a few other comedies, but I'm not sure if they're what you want.
