The beauty in the details

Like very few mangas, this one gives you a well thought story, full of meaning and life in it. The attention to detail, portraing the every day life of the characters is amazing. We see and get to know them in every action in a very subtle way, while the story keeps on moving. Loved it.
It's such a pity that there doesnt seem to be any more manga from this mangaka available to read atm.

I found this manga, didn't expect much, but loved it till the very end.

It is short. But it takes its time to introduce characters and unfold the plot.

Yes, it is a bit quirky. And I like it because it holds all that I value in my everyday life into a slice-of-life, adventure-seeking, mystery-solving story of family, friendship, and relationships that surround you in a warm breeze of a summer afternoon (near the beach and up the mountain 😀 )

Take your time and enjoy this with all your heart!

This is a beautifully drawn manga about a weird collection of themes. It's not really suspenseful (despite the side theme of a cult appearing) but rather focuses on character development and scenes à la "a day in the life".

The cast is delightfully small. Combined with the pages which are full of detail, this allows for plenty of character development. Character arcs seem well-rounded, rather than too short or rushed.
I also love the art style for the characters - there's a certain minimalism about the faces, but they're just delightfully expressive.

The incidental romance is also lovely. In most romantic manga, the main couple is obvious by the first chapter and they're just beating around the bush afterwards. Here, in contrast, the romance occurs only at the end, like a natural development of what happened before. It doesn't feel preordained, as is so often the case.

Finally, the manga has an extensive, or at least sufficient, epilogue. I've rarely had as few complaints about an ending in manga as I had here.

Universally recommended.

PS: The manga is also filled to the brim with obscure references. I suppose these can only be fully experienced in Japanese, but the English translators did a fantastic job, anyway.
