One of those series that screams "I WANT TO BECOME STRONGER," not that I have anything against them, it's just over done in my opinion. It was carried out quite well overall. It just wasn't the best, but good enough.

Generic shonnen with some gore and softcore nudity, this series has no highlights still it's not bad and it's somewhat entertaining, we just need some group to pick up the sequel.

frustrating read

Lower on the scale than "not worth reading". I think i'll just give up on the shounen genre after this.

Here are some of the problems:
0. Main character is Main character just because he is. There was a phenomenon that killed half a city and only left him alive, but it seems as we don't need to know why just him. From the 12 volumes this manga has, we can only conclude he was lucky.
1. Main character wants to get strong by his own, to win with his own powers. However... he uses a magical sword in all his fights, and is surrounded by strong people that protect him. This doesn't stop him from crying all the time about how strong he wants to get.
2. Sword play is weak. Main char has a dumb stance good only to cut dead bodies. Fights have no technique, no continuity, and are short.
3. Lots of unimportant villains and allies. There was this one tough guy that appeared out of nowhere and he was so strong that i thought he'd last till the final battle, but he dies just like that, because our guy finds his sword has some secret power.
4. People come and go to the point i stopped caring about any of them. They don't even die, because that would sadden the readers. We just move to another part of the story and leave everything else behind. It's simple, right? If you read this manga as chapters come out, you might not be bothered by these, but read it in one go and you'll see the many holes of bad writing.
5. Beware the ending. This has to be in my top 3 worst manga endings i've ever encountered. In the last chapters nothing important happens, so you're not even suspecting the ending in near. So when you get to the last page and you see that's it... uhhh, what!? Imagine two friends talking for 20 pages and then one of them says "I'll go get some more beers, brb." And this would be the last page of a 12 volumes manga.

Good luck.

At first it started out good. The main character didn't have to depend on anybody. After volume 2 he is a brat and all he does is whine and cry. Every time you think he's going to get mature he starts whine and cry again. He really can't do nothing with out Mana. He kinds of act like a truly dumb Ichigo from Bleach.

This should be rated mature. Read this manga only if you have nothing else to read.

Mediocre

Art is ok, but inconsistent. Foreheads on some characters make them look like mutants. Main character is annoying. He's the cliched dumb but honest type. For a guy who is useless without his sword, he spends most of the time staying away from it. This often sets up situations where other people have to protect him and while they yell "run" (since he's unarmed) he's like "no I'll stay and be useless and moan about not having my sword and try and annoy you while you fight to protect me." The rest of the time he spends yelling or moaning, "mana, mana!" It gets old fast. MC uses a basic Kendo posture and somehow the author tries to make us think its the baddest posture in the universe (eyes rolling here). The real lesson that is trying to be conveyed is that Loli's are badasses so you shouldn't mess with them. Can you tell? After 30 chapters I'm less than impressed with story and art. I'm like, eh its ok at best.

How is this not rated mature? There's a lot of killing going on, and there's at least one naked girl in each chapter. Am I the only one who thinks this should be categorised as mature confused

Couldn't get past chapter 1.

I didn't have a good feeling with the first chapter being named chance meeting and that feeling came to pass.
The main character is a bad ass fighter for no reason at all and incredibly pretentious as well as arrogant. If the main character is unlikeable I personally just can't go on. Not to mention he's the generic "I want to fight and have a grand adventure because my normal life is boring" type and I hate that nature of character more than anything.
For the most part the generic flashy shounen taste seems to be up everyone's alley as all the past reviews will reveal, even dating back 3 years from this one.

Yess scanlation has started again, well atleast chapter 20 is out. Anywayz this is an amazing manga. From the beginning the hero is strong, good at fighting(well atleast normal people) and definetly not a wimp unlike most of the heroes in shounen mangas. Also he can bekum insanely strong by letting dis otha spirit control his body but instead he chooses not to and instead prefers to work hard himself in improving his sword skillz making me like dis dude even more. Furthermore hez a total badass startn from chapter 1. The heroine is cool as well and also strong herself. Artwork is just simply amazing and the plot is interesting as well. There is so many mysteries here, unanswered questions, hidden agendas and awesome fights and cool characters such as the genius souji making dis manga just damn awesome

Great action/comedy manga

This manga is very very very good. Not perfect, but close. The romance is very light, and some people might not be able to tell at all who likes who, but still, the action is cool and this also isnt one of those mangas where the protagonist is a helpless geek/wimp, which is nice. Instead, it is the other cliche type protagonist, which is the hot blooded idiot with some unlocked potential.

Overall, this is a great manga and i would gladly recommend it to anyone.

i really like this series & what i like the most is that the main character isn´t annoying as it tends to be in another shounen series. and i really care about the art too, so that´s also why i love it.
really recommend it!
9,9 smile )) (coz nothing in this world is perfect lol)
