Description
Märchen is a young man who was saved from the brink of death by a martial arts master by infusing her Ki into him. However, things take a turn when Märchen has no interest in fighting and aims to live a peaceful life.
His "Master" then decides to make use of his ability to become stronger simply by reading tales and absorbing the techniques used in them. She introduces a huge library, filled with all kinds of books that record different forms of martial arts and techniques, to him.

A few chapters in and I feel frustration with his stupidity and decision making. The entire setting of "Oh I don't like violence blah blah and then proceeds to realise that he has people to protect" is kinda overplayed and boring imo. I hope he eventually gets smarter in the later chapters, but so far it feels downright annoying whenever he does something stupid.
His abilities seem kind of uninteresting but the way they dive deeper into the origin of the skills he learns makes up for it as its not a common trope you see in manhwa or manga at least and the characters in the side stories although kinda generic are still pretty interesting to a certain extent.

Terrible plot, the villain level of prediction and manipulation is utterly ridiculous and half the story is built upon that crap, the other half seams to be a copy of Ruler of the land, so not particularly good either. Not to mention the story is set on a sort of ancient Korean setting yet from nowhere a guy appears using mysterious machines to conveniently make our MC's enemies stronger...
The good part were the short stories in the beginning but that lasted almost nothing and soon changed the story's route.
As for the chars, it's overly tragic and mysteriously forgotten and conveniently remembered flashbacks keep popping up, mc is the classic overly powerful with no effort and the female lead is weak (in presence), and is mostly just another side char.
Overall, a weak manhwa, has little new to offer and while some good mangas are just a good rehash of thing we've already seen, it's not the case here.

If you like the Wuxia (Martial arts with Ki/Qi in ancient eastern era setting) then you will like this series.
The story's main focus is internal struggle of the MC. His incredible talent is like a curse to him.
But of course it has a lot of nice actions inside it.

I was a bit worried when I saw the author. In most of his other works it is all about battle tropes, pricks for main characters and fanservice. In Marchen since the story is constructed a bit differently fanservice and stupid characters aren`t a problem yet. There are some well known shounen tropes used however. The in-stories are interesting - I guess that`s Wixia version of 1001 Nights. Even just these stories on their own are worth the read.
