worth reading

this is a surprisingly well done series with a ton of humor.
it doesn't seem all that slow to me; i think the author does a good job building up the near-future world and creating characters we can actually like. i can see how fans of fast paced action web novels might find all the details boring, but i'm enjoying the story.
as far as i know this is the only gaming series being translated that does NOT involve VR. there's no helmet or capsule, just a headset and finger agility and competition.
in the story glory has pretty much taken over everywhere so i don't find it all that unbelievable that the top pro esport teams are treated as celebs on par with pro sports stars. and, of course,
it wouldn't be a chinese gaming novel without lots of PK and guild politics/ intrigue (its almost as bad as a regular xianxai novel).
its a good story with a very good translation/ editing team.

Funniest MMO novel so far

Among the MMO novels I've read, this one has the most humor. It's enjoyable and the MMO dynamics are covered in more depth than other MMO novels. It is a slow paced novel similiar to Only Sense. It's an either will like or I'm going to snooze type preference. For me, I enjoyed the jokes and haggling the MC does to the other players. It's straight bullying but not as bad as the LMS or Ark MC.

Slow but good

Compared to other MMO related novel, QZGS stood out as the only one with e-sport atmosphere, unlike others that focus on fantasy aspect. You really could feel that the author is knowledgeable in game mechanic. The story didn't rely on luck/cheat/op equipment/impossible game setting to made MC as the strongest *cough*Zhan Long*every other MMO LN*cough*. Ye Xiu is strong because of his abundant skill and experience in glory.
This is not a story about genius who strive to be the very best, but about a fallen champion who try to reclaim his rightful throne.

I still had hope at chapter 50 but when I reached chapter 100 it became clear that the writer spends waaay to much time describing how the MC is hitting the buttons. There is clearly room for a much more interesting dynamic to be explored but alas. The only ones who could rate this highly are people who lived in World of Warcraft for 10 years, but I don't think they have "time" to read the story since they lived in World of Warcraft for 10 years ^-^.
