Lonely stressed out girl finds cat to bond with.
...and that's about it.
It's a cute premise, but really barely scratches the surface. The cat's narrations are mildly amusing in a few places, but it's not really a funny story. There are places that could be sad or cathartic but just don't pack much of a punch. I'm a cat owner in the same stage of life as the heroine dealing with some of the same issues, so I potentially could have liked her very much, but there just isn't much depth to this story.
It's primary focus seems to be depicting the heroine in her sweatpants, doing little chores around the apartment.
Why?
To appeal to lonely single men who wonder what a woman behaves like at home?
If that's what you're into, then by all means give this a read, but I found this story forgettable and would sum it up by shrugging, "At least it has a shiny metallic cover."
