Description
Life at home isn't easy for Mai. Even though she's still in elementary school, she's always taking care of her irresponsible, immature father. Every day is far from ordinary as Mai deals with (and occasionally joins in on) whatever childish antics her father is up to next.

I just started this series per recommendation of Baka Updates that it'd be somewhat similar to Dad, Beard Gorilla and I. Banzai the Category Recommendation!
It's so much fun reading this! From not eating green bell peppers to not bringing umbrella to just whole-heartedly going all-out when having fun in- or outdoor, it's always the Mai-chan and her dad and her friends, and sometimes words from her mom. It's a small world that is thoroughly appreciated to the tiniest of the meals you have everyday, the laundry you try to clean even when it's rain, the revenge you get for your fallen comrades, the thoughtfulness you share with your peers or the elders when the occasions arise.
Of all the light-heartedness Munko wrote and drew about, when I reflect deeper, it's quite a depressing matter they are in: the mom left the family because the dad is too much to handle, thus leaving the young, primary-school age daughter to take care of the household. We don't appreciate them enough especially the homemakers, in additions to the breadwinners. And it's amazing how Munko can filter all these muddiness and "observed" the lives of her creations as they "make even uninteresting things interesting".
So much so the family antics, so much so the family love.
Thank you author-san and scanlator-san. I hope someone'd finish scanlating this. I'll definitely support this work upon its arrival here where I live (I hope that'll be soon).
I almost forgot! I learned some new Japanese things from the manga too! Like Dobin Mushi and Fukashi Manju, as well as Shiritori the game. Nice!
