Art

There's nothing more that I can say for it except that is was beautiful. If your taste lay in the more typical manga/webtoons, then this won't be for you. If you'd rather read a beautiful piece of work that revolves around just why self-destruction, beauty, pain, longing, love, and all those other elements are fundamental tenets of art however, then do read on. PRIDE doesn't care about stating the obvious; it abstracts the emotions of the ends of the spectra and gives life to them in the 5 characters.

The art and concept for this manhwa is beautiful. The ties each character has to others are real and potent. However, for those who have trouble grasping abstract concepts, this story might be a bit too confusing. The words are heavy and laced with meaning. There is tragedy as well. The love portrayed is not normal, but in a sense it could be considered very pure, and very alien.

I would suggest reading it if what I just described interests you.

The dialogues don't make any sense. And I know it's not the translators' fault, it's just that the mangaka wants to make the characters speak in a unique, elaborate way to make what they say seem more impactful. But when you write a dialogue, you need to read it out loud and think if what you just wrote makes sense. Sometimes, keeping it simple is the right thing to do.

Plus, in mangas the story is very important. If you just draw beautiful things and can't tell a story properly, go ahead and draw a picture book. I know that all mangakas can't be amazing story-tellers and that's fine, but when you struggle SO much to get your point across, you need to choose another carreer path.

Normally, I'm not that strict in my critiques but this is my honest opinion after reading this manhwa.
