It's good, but different than her other stuff

Takanaga Hinako is a great mangaka, so I have read most of her works. I love Koisuru Boukun and Bukiyou na Silent. Turning Point is different than her other works, but it's good nonetheless. The art is still GORGEOUS (I don't know what other people were smoking when they read it, it's amazing) and the characters are realistic and well-defined. I have read a lot of yaoi, so I can say that this is some top-notch stuff.

Compared to her other works, Turning Point is rather simple, so don't start reading and expect any wild misunderstandings or comedic relief characters. Turning Point is Takanaga-sensei's most mature series yet. It may not be her crowning achievement, but it's definitely worth a read.

I read this manga before and re-read it again after biblo eros released the first chapter. Angsty story- it's one of her more mature works, I have never liked her other works but I like this one.
I think her other works might appeal to a younger demographic, but this one is great if you love Miyamoto Kano's work.

Cute reflection on following ones dreams

I liked this one! I don't think it was boring at all. I suppose it's not action packed, but plenty of things happen in the characters lives and between the characters. I also liked the main characters and how they interacted. I liked how there were no issues of dub-con, just two people connecting and pursuing their dreams. Overall I thought this was a great, feel-good story, and one I have reread a couple of times.

This story really went into the mind of the main character. Capturing his struggles with his insecurities relating to his career and love life made this character very real to me, and I found myself engrossed in this manga. I give it a thumbs up!

I actually adored the hell out of this. Reichirous charecter just made me fall completely in love with him and the semes hot headedness was realistic for an older ungay man and really showed the hardships that one faced.

I really dont understand some of the bad reviews, but i for one adored this and definetly recomend it.

Well, it's not like it's the newest plot in the world, and it's full of clichés and everything. But I actually liked it pretty much! It's cute, light-headed (WHERE did that "drama" in the genre came from?) and got my attention long enough to finish.
Sakuragi is just so sweet I wanna squeeze him and never let him go! He's not the negative, masculine type like Takanaga-sensei intended at all, he's the total opposite! It's like he can't stand being by himself, like he'd always needed someone else! He's so needy, kyaa~!
Imamura is okay too, but I don't particularly love him because I'm not very found of gentle semes.
Anyways, as a whole, they're adorable together, and that's what counts! Some parts DID get me by surprised, I gotta admit, and I liked how their relationship and personalities were developed through the story.

My only complaint isn't about the story, but about the sequence of chapters scanlated. I don't know if it was just me or if you've gone through the same, but since so many groups translated this, it was a mess to find the right order, and I ended up reading chapter 5 before chapter 4. That caused me to not understand anything from that point on and had to re-read those chapters a couple of times.

As a lot of people said, it's not like the rest of Takanaga-sensei's work. I, on the contrary of a lot of people, don't think it's her most mature title, I think it's exactly the opposite: her most childish one. And that's why it's not as good as the rest. But anyways, it's pretty enjoyable, just don't expect a remarkable title that'll be on your top 10 or something.

Just a little bit...

I feel just a little bit cheated both by the cover and the summary. The first chapter was great, and the concept really caught my eye: a struggling, excessively down-to-earth playwright and super positive, free spirited seme is not something I usually encounter. The art too was at its best. Gorgeous close-ups, beautifully detailed, soft and dynamic. 5/5. This is not to say the rest of the volume doesn't hold its fair share of unique moments (where the art style is concerned), but it is of a decreasing quality though. The plot is uninteresting. In a nutshell, it tells the story of a guy who wants to be an actor because his lover is a playwright,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
He successes in doing so with little effort or apparent struggles, there is some misplaced "drama" only to justify the threat of breaking up -- no heart pounding -- and they live happily ever after.

I'm not bashing. It wasn't unbearable, far from it. I caught myself smiling a few times, even. The characters are quite lovable, even if you don't remember them after an hour or two. Like I said, Imamura is not the kind of seme I usually encounter (and it's still not my cup of tea) but Sakuragi is, like some of you pointed out, quite in accord with most of us unbearable, pessimistic human beings. I don't usually "side" with the uke but I did now.

However, after such a promising first chapter, it felt kind of flat and not nearly as interesting as it could have been.

I would suggest this to anyone who's in for some romance, for as long as you keep in my it is one volume only, who loves a lovey-dovey semes and a little bit of smut.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews for this manga.
It's true that this is a bit of a different path than Takanaga's usual mangas thanks mostly to the main character, but still it's a very entertaining manga.
I didn't mind Sakuragi at all! He's not your typical easy to understand, cheerful main character but that doesn't make him bad! He's a negative thinking person. He made bad experiences, isn't good at dealing with them and has a lot of worries and self pity. For me, that makes him very human.
He is not happy with how his career is going, and that also is something very normal for real humans!
So in a way, I think he's probably more normal acting than your usual manga character.
Imamura is sweet, clingy, needy but also very caring and tries his best to make Sakuragi happy, so to me they are a sweet couple.
Sure, the story isn't an epic one but it's good for what it is, and you cannot expect something extremely in depth and detailed in just one volume.

I'd recommend this to anyone who likes young cheerful semes and bitter ukes, or generally negative characters who have to learn to get over it to find their own happiness again.

I usually like this mangaka but this was so dissapointing I had to give up reading half way through this one sad . I would see the point if this was her first or second or even third attempt at manga but as all her previous works before this are all good I just don't know what she was thinking ??

Annoying Main Character

GOD this is irritating. Sakuragi is sort of an anti-Mary Sue. He's unbearably arrogant and selfish. but thts aaaallll ok, so long as he "hates" himself for nothing! even if he thinks that all of his worst features r ctually credits. UGH! these types of characters make me sick. he's just like those girls who r perfect but NOT mary-sues of course, since they're so "adorably clumsy". Terrible!

the other one's quite irritating for his actual Mary-Sue ness, too >.>
