Description
Alfred Rindt is the strongest wizard. After taking a cursed arrow to the knee, he just wants some peace and quiet to heal. But, being a famous hero has its downsides. Everyone in the royal capital is demanding his assistance! Alfred decides he needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, so he takes a job as a village guard in the countryside. Will Alfred finally get the rest he so desires, or will the countryside prove to be just as lively as the city he left behind?

It's honestly worth a look to see if you'll like it or not, and I personally like it quite a bit.
With that said, there's only 20 chapters translated for my sources so I don't have a lot to judge this on. Several things have happened, but it doesn't feel like it.
The characters are interesting, but you might not notice as, unless something big is happening, everything is slowly paced.
Give it a try, but it really depends on your preferences.
Edit: I used to rate this as an 8, but honestly, unless the translations for the chapters past 20 are pure trash (and there is evidence they're not good), I believe the author has run out of ideas that let the characters be themselves. The main character has recently had his entire personality flip-flop several times and the plot gets pretty lazy.
Some cool things have happened... or rather, been alluded to. Quite frankly, I think the author even forgets the main character's knee is bad, because they show the opposite of what they tell quite often in that regard.
Is it worth checking out still? I guess. Just don't expect this to be good at any particular thing past chapter 20.

It's not bad, but a generic "OP character comes in a small village" trope.
Except that there is a *male* character named "Femme". That's the word for "woman" in French. That's not a name...
