Description

While I appreciate shining a light on psychiatry and lesser known disorders, I don't think the author is especially familiar with the field

Unless their intention is to show the main psychiatrist as incompetent, which I doubt, their lack of knowledge shows. For instance, he helps a woman ground during a panic attack but never actually explains to her what happened or what may have caused it. As soon as she has started to calm, he leaves and says "I'm a psychiatrist! Come to my clinic if you need it!" This is a callous disregard for both professional integrity and the health of the woman. Really frustrating as he does similar things more than once.
Additionally, some of the information provided is out of date or flat-out wrong. They also don't delineate between therapy and psychiatry properly.
I would guess the author is tangentially aware of the field because of a friend or family member in it, or they received treatment a long time ago, and they are trying to regurgitate what they've heard from that source... But it's not really working.
