Description
Rinko, an elementary school student, has wandered the city alone at night looking for her mother who left home with only 500,000 yen, only to see a boy, Haruno, collapsing on the ground. so I raised my voice to ask. Haruno's self-proclaimed "boyfriend" gave Rinko a bad impression, but because she couldn't bear the despair of loneliness, she called Haruno… "let me feed you with this money" and so in the meantime waiting for the mother to return, the "temporary" life between two strangers begins.

This manga is a masterclass in competent paneling structure, drawing parallels, storytelling while making use of mature psychological themes, conveying meaning and emotion through its use of character expressions and camera angles, and delivering satisfying metaphorical imagery to signify underlying trauma in its characters. The ending left me in a state of a cathartic "wow" you only get after finishing something impactful as this.

Having just finished it today, I'm unsure what to think about the ending, other than I don't really care for it.

I'm not against time skips in general, but for these two to go 12 years without talking just seems kinda dumb, even if I understand the motivation behind it.

Up until the last chapter, this was a solid manga. I disliked Rinko's mom, as I'm guessing we were meant to.


Reservations aside, I recommend this manga.

My thoughts after chapter 1

So far interesting plot, if you ignore the trope of the mom being gone, the two mcs are much more unique than the countless manga with just generic characters, these characters do not fall into the troupes which define a character within a single chapter, which i relaly like as this gives the author the ability to work out how each character personality is going to be like.

Overall very good intro, cant wait for chapter 2
