This will seriously be an unpopular opinion, but Yeop's mother shouldn't have woken up and his suicide rope that's supposedly super strong shouldn't have broken either. It made the ending too unrealistic, but oh well. It goes to show something beyond words ... and I love that there were no words in many instances, which the author can only express through their art. They're incredibly amazing at depicting emotions and feelings.

The story's ending reflects upon the title, which I believe comes from Job 7:20, King James Version, that reads "what hast thou set me as a mark against thee" (why did you set me up as a target against you? [e.g. so God will continually keep striking him]). I think the title drop happened in one of the chapters, but I can't be bothered to find it anymore. In the end, because he had given up on revenge ("looks like there's nothing left for me to do now"), he's not looking to do something evil anymore, so God had freed Yeop of that mark that he so believes that's on him.

But, that one last panel of him turning back and staring straight ahead at the reader/audience was very eerie. Maybe he still thinks he's a target, which shows that he hasn't fully gone back to "normal" -- which is fair and probably would never happen.
