not my taste...

i found it rather droll and boring...the main character does cry a lot and inadvertantly uses her boyfriends...all in all, if you prefer a weaker lead, this might be in your taste...

honestly, for me Sand Chronicle is one of the best manga that i ever had. it's give a lesson. it's not over a wasted love story but also show the struggle..

and, back to my topic.
Daigo is a gentleman, kind, and protective. He is honest too.
Fuji is a kind, care, and helpful.

Sometimes, if i dream about Daigo it can be happy. But, Fuji is kind too. Ah ! I don't know who's better but if i can choose one, maybe i would like to choose Daigo.. *LOL

For Shoujo Lovers

If you love typical shoujo manga, you'd LOVE this. And it's not only about the romance, it also has deep story behind. I love how you keep guessing who An would end up with (bite me, that's why I love shoujo manga heh heh). Why oh why they only have scanlated it to vol.4? T_T ..I'm going to look for the English version

this is terrible...i really didn't like it. Everything is too complicated, everybody's scheming.... and even real life isn't so pessimistic...nah. i hope that i won´t be so desperate and pick this up ever again...i hate tragedy, and even though this isn't categorized as one, it feels equally bad reading this.

smile The truth, yeah.

This manga is so cute, maybe a few tweaks here and there would make it good, but I like it overall. Yes I agree with Miruki.
It's slightly overdramatic, but I like how they act like real people do.
Hey, for flashbacks, its important to relate to what happened before. It makes more sense and drama. The artist made the art very beautiful and I like the way was how she developed the realistic plot, and I give her kudos for that.

this manga isn't about angst and depressions. This manga is about how you can live a life smile
it's more depth than wat people see from a glance. It's also pretty complicated. If you havent gone through all those emotions in real life, maybe you won't be able to understand it, and probably find this manga isn't good. Also, base on character's culture and personality, this manga describes a perfect normal girl in real life.
Basically, this manga isn't for shoujo i would say. It's more of josei genre. It deals with lots of emotions and deep feelings as well.

So be warned that if you can't read these types of manga then probably you should drop it from the start smile

And i have to totally disagree with wintermelon on every way. But it's a whole different story.

What shoujo should be

If you're just reading pictures in the raws, I think you won't really enjoy this. But if you read the English translations (or can read Japanese) you'll get a lot more out of it. The whole series is about the characters and the communication between them, or the lack, and how that shapes their lives. I love how the characters have depth and react so realistically. They have their good points and their flaws, and they have ups and downs in their lives that most of us can relate to.

Some people have said it's a depressing story, but I don't see it that way. We get to watch Ann and her friends grow up, make choices, and live with consequences both good and bad. It's like life, and the series has both very sad moments and ones of utter joy. It ends on one of the up notes. smile

I highly recommend this. It's unlike most shoujo I've read in that it moves beyond cliche. This isn't for people who just want a gag manga, but if you like a story with more to it, try this one.

Wasted Plot. *edited*

*reason for edit?
Lawl, Hard core fans who cant take opposing views (points at Mehness biggrin :haha smile Anyway, what am I lying about? My thoughts and opinion? Because I am certainly not making up the story xD (maybe you took my hyperboles literally)
Although its true my comment was too inconsiderate to lovers of this manga. And the fact that it was too heated with anger...

About 90% of the plot is angsty and separation and pain of Ann. She sheds tears every 4 double pages or so...and just makes herself sad! Always unnecessarily dwells on depressing subjects!
There are a lot of flash backs. You can see this same flash back more than 15 times in this manga...as if trying to make a whole deal out of this little aniti-climatic hug.
The end is different from what I expected. a twist.
Sadly... no it was just squashedandFORCED together.
Vague spoiler: 1) This main character who was in a triangle relationship with the other two mains, ends up with a minor side character that you don't even know anymore than her name.
2) Another main disappears to another country
3) For the main plot, the other two mains just plodder through life half alive
Then when the end of everyone's pain finally comes..the ending comes in...two pages?
So, two good volumes then its the start of a campaign to tug at your heart-strings every few pages. All the way to the end of Volume 8!
The last 2 volumes are irrelavant to the main plot.
What I can say as praise is that I like the art. It is decent.
But everyone looks cuter than Ann. I honestly pity Fuji - he is cute and his character is totally wasted.
I dont understand Daigo. He seems too laid back upout the relationship. Shiika is just....
I liked the ending but the rest didn't step up on par, thats my view. Live with it bigrazz

yes reallistic and dramatic i understand why peaple like it, but still i read manga so i can escape harsh reallity of life from time to time, but this just bring me right back at it , cant stand it, i just seem like its too heart breaking. i couldnt read it after the first volume. well some people like this stuff a lot. its interesting how some people read manga to feel hard emotions and some to escape from them, mmm perhaps i should start a topic about this... je
