Reading this feels like being part of an MK Ultra psyop.

Disturbing in a deep psychosexual way.
The plot is barely coherent, the action is so abrupt it can break the pacing, the aliens set off every 'bad touch' alarm bell you have.
There is some genius there. But a lot more madness and derangement. I feel like it permanently rewired some synapses.

This series makes me extremely uncomfortable, and for that reason I rate it highly. There's value in art/entertainment that makes you laugh or cry or even feel fear. But this manga is none of those. I suppose it's closest to the "fear" aspect, but it's not typical horror at all, and it's so much more than simple shock and violence and gore.
Milk Closet is something that just makes you want to stop reading it. Not because it's bad manga, but because it's playing with your preconceptions and feelings. It manipulates you with strange imagery and symbols. It's sort of like Lovecraft. It will take a special kind of horror fan to appreciate this manga. You'll need to be able to understand and analyse your own revulsion, and detach that feeling from considering this manga "bad". You must be able to give up your selfish preconceived notions wherein something is considered good because it makes you feel good. Instead, whether positive or negative, we should consider whether the work is interesting, and Milk Closet is hella interesting.

This is one Surreal manga, about multiple universes, parenting, immature creatures with too much power, cetaceans, insects, and kids.
All with cuteness getting killed ups and downs, i will be sincere with you all, i absolutely detest when cute things bastardize gore, i see it as a disrespectful thing towards awesome badassery, violence, and horror, you don't mix those, but the surreal elements, and the way that everything is managed here, is so well done, that i am giving this a 10. Plus the whole thing is just 20 chapters, the wise thing to do is to read it whole in one go, is somehow messy but not indecipherable.

I stopped reading somewhere in the end of Volume 2 or something for quite a long while. Then continued just recently. It is not recommended to do that.
I still can't make heads or tails about this manga. Needs to either re-read it, or ponder on it a bit more.
Art style is to my liking; that is well drawn cuteness that's get slaughtered. Unfortunately (or rather fortunately?) I can't say much about the characters due to the aforementioned circumstance.
Maybe will revisit this manga again.

...but I started right as I was supposed to go to sleep, and now it's 5:17 am.
More later. For now, I'll just warn that you should not read this at night and/or when you're fighting an infestation of insects in your kitchen. Otherwise, it's captivating.
Now to find something else to read until daylight saves my sanity. Something light, in both ways.

I thought this was brilliant all the way through. It's like Narutaru and Elfen Lied meets Hieronymous Bosch, which is to say that it combines some of my favourite things in a really surreal and messed up way.
I see the second half getting a lot of criticism (here and elsewhere) but I didn't see anything wrong with it. Now granted - it was quite a change from where things appeared to be going, but I thought it flowed and made sense, even if it was running on warped logic. The ending blew my mind - the perfect 'wtf-awesome' to a long string of them.
Must have for fans of the surreal and high imagination, along with people who like seeing cute things destroyed horrifically.

Much like Alien Nine, the author's previous series, Milk Closet rides the razor's edge between being heartwarming and thoroughly distressing. The art is at once adorable and disturbing, the plot is a convoluted wreck with frequent moments of brilliance, and the characters are punching bags for misfortune, yet continually appealing. Naturally, the hybridization of children with aliens is a key motif, but Milk Closet also focuses on multidimensionality, and the bizarre ramifications dimensional travel. The combination of moe fetishism, biological monstrosity, and post-modern absurdity is just way, way too good to pass up.
Goes from wierd to awesome to wierd to downright stupid.

I really enjoyed this manga in the beginning. By volume one end I was feeling that this could be something very very awesome. And when the twist occurs in volume two (with the boy) I was on the floor begging for more - but then with the next two volumes everything started to fall apart. Things like multi-universe concepts and what not, by the end this was one of manga series with the most ridiculous plots (imagine a universe in a universe inside another universe!!!) I have ever come across. Considering the characters had to flow with the story, even they fell eventually.
All in all, this starts out great but loses itself in the middle. Not recommended to people who like strong plots. Though people liking surreal plots would like this.

It's an interesting story that definitely gets weird at times. If you liked Alien Nine, then you'll probably enjoy this one, and vice versa.
I'm still not really sure what to make of this story

It had somewhat interesting concepts but was also kind of confusing. Kudos to anyone who could figure out all the whys and hows because I couldn't.
