Pretty good although a little repetitive

I thought this was a great shonen series that had an original and entertaining plotline. The length of the series may be daunting but I found myself eating through chapters, although I did tend to forget minor details due to the slight repetetiveness

secondary product

if you want to know almost all shounen cliché that exist in nature, you really should read this manga. the same goes if you don't want to read about some interesting characters with improved personalities. no more interesting plots? that's your choice! you won't find here any character developed enough to be interesting and no one surprising plot twist. get ready to boredom and predictable moves. and you definitely should read this manga if you like all those characters that had a meeting with some mysterious girl in the past, so it reflects all their present moves.
though art is ok, everything except it is so secondary that it makes you feel deja vu every time.

watch the anime

well, i'm only like, chapter 30 or so in the manga, but i watched the anime all the way through. so far, i like the anime adaptation better. if you can, i suggest you watch the anime; i personally like the english dubs more since i've never been a big fan of japanese voice acting. overall the story's good, and i gave it a 9 cause of the awesome anime. it does weaken as it goes along, but i think the story was really strong in the beginning. without the anime it'd probably rank about a 6 or 7 in my book, and comparing it to the anime itself, perhaps even lower for the manga. just read it and see how you feel.

I thought this was just a mediocre series. Nothing really stood out from other Shounen series. Also, the characters don't have enough development. Except for the 3 main characters, I didn't really know anything about any of the others, which didn't draw me into the story.

Great in the beginning. Drags towards the end. Still good.

It starts off pretty dark but it lightens up a lot later on. Lot's of fighting, much of it over the top. A bit pushy with the morals at times and later it seems to be nothing but endless/pointless fighting. Still, it finishes quite nicely. If you like Trigun, Bleach or Dragonball, this should be a pretty enjoyable read.

I decided to read the manga after watching the anime. The anime, it turned out, got so many things wrong and revealed some glaring plot holes. Like how come Train had a change of heart after knowing Saya for a week tops?? But the manga gave adequate explanation for all phenomena and I was satisfied. It was weird to see Train drop down from the position of a scary assassin to a goofy milk-loving guy who is just too good with the gun. It was a great read with amazing action and funny fillers. And I love Janus and Train (hot guys!!!!!).
A must read for all those action lovers out there.

this manga is really funny... at the beginning it was really great but then it turned out a little boring and then it was good again... i think someone who don´t have humour shouldn´t read this. The story of this manga is okay but why did it turn out Haremconfused *cry* one of the reasons starting this manga was black cat but the story is totally diffrent! (and i mean it) I look forward to the anime of to-Love ru BTW it comes out in April... and the art of the anime is really good so for the ones who don´t like reading: you shouldn´t start reading and watch the anime!!! ^^

i cant state how much i enjoyed this. Its deffinently not the funniest or coolest or most bad@#$ manga ive ever read but it has a very good amount of each of those elements. But unlike most mangas that i would consider the funiest/collest/etc it never let me down in any area i enjoyed every element of the manga, and the plot never slowed down or sped up like some mangas it was just right. i cant even say that about the big three (naruto. bleach, one piece). I would highly suggest Black Cat to anyone.

I wish it could all be good but i do have to warn, like some of the others comments said it does have some lose ends it never tied in. You notice them all, but it didnt bother me cuz they werent all that important. Thats why it still gets a ten.
