You know how there are those stories and manga that just capture your attention? There are also those ones that, no matter how hard you try, you really just can't get into.
This one's the type that just grab you. It's an interesting premise, and the characters are really very lovable. Ren is strong and admirable, and I really liked the rest of the characters, too! It's sort of a refreshing, airy, interesting and sweet manga. It's not like... (prepare for weird dessert analogy) really heavy cake with lots of frosting; it's more like sorbet after a hot summer's day. It's not too focused on comedy, it's not too depressing or emotional. It just has a very good feel to it. Even the art is sort of whimsical and elegant.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is... read this! It's really a nice manga. biggrin
Story was cute only wish it coulda been longer :[
I liked how it was simple, no crazy love-triangels for crazy people trying ot kill each other to "balance" the world again and what not
that one-shot at the end had a very bittersweet and fulfilling ending, he died D: and musta been for a long time because her ring was decaying D:
I like art like this, makes it feel a bit "arty", rather than manga style.....If that makes any sense. I wasn't expecting this story to have as much depth as it did, so it was a pleasant surprise that it was so good.

My initial rating was 8:50, for the main story, but after reading the oneshot, my rating went up to 9. I liked the first story, but the second one was so bittersweet and heartwretching that I couldn't help consider it.

I really loved sorry. The heroine was not weak and did not cry in every chapter. She was strong and loyal. I also adored the oneshot at the end. I laughed and seriously cried along with the story. Definitely worth the effort and time to read.

As far as shinigami romances go this has to be one of, if not, the best I've ever read. I reallly can't see anything to bash about this series. Managed to be sweet, interesting, and funny.

Quite enjoyed...

I began reading it and was intrigued by the unique and engaging story it presented. I was hooked early on and eagerly awaited the next chapters. The story is original and with fresh character’s that are all very endearing and fleshed out quite nicely.

Plot- A grim reaper falls in love- pretty much that, but it’s presented in such a fun way, and at the same time it delves deeper into relationships and constructs loveable relationships between all the characters! The pace is nice, not too quick but just quick enough. It is only two volumes long, but in those two volumes it wonderfully completes the story in a very satisfying way.

Characters- Ren and Ai are amazing! You can’t just help but love them and their strange relationship. It’s very nice to see them grow closer together throughout the story; their actions together are very fun to read about. All the other characters are just as great, fleshed out and given their own side stories that fit into the main story beautifully. The character’s really drive the story and make it all the more better.

Art- It could be considered ‘sketchy’, it’s light and airy and everything’s very thin. I enjoyed the art; it captured a lightness and simplicity that reflected nicely on the story, even when discussing heavier topics the art helped keep dreaminess to the whole thing. It worked well.

Other- I enjoyed the story, and was quite satisfied by the ending. The only thing keeping me from quite enjoying the story was my views of God and death were not quite in sync with the characters, so especially at the end I could not completely enjoy the slight twist dealing with one of the characters. I do recommend the story, and realize that many will not feel the same as I do. All in the entire story was nice and an easy read.

8/10- Was good

These types of stories are my favorite. Like the person before me commented, this story is light, yet very emotional. It doesn't have a sugary feel to it, nor a depressive one. I want to give Ai (the main male protagonist) a big hug! He starts off just "playing", yet he is drawn deeper and deeper by Ren (the main female protagonist) unconsciously, until he is trapped in the abyss of love (hmm, maybe possessiveness? not sure what to name this feeling) by his own will. Some Ai's thoughts are so sweet, yet they are borderline obsessive (which I like biggrin!!). Anyways, although Sarashi Asobi only has two chapters out so far, I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a story that is a slow and light read, but filled with emotion and a maybe a slight foreboding of tragedy!

It would be really awesome if a scanslator would pick this project up (i'd do it myself but sadly I don't have the books *yet*, I don't know japanese, and I don't have a scanner T.T). I've read two of Touya's works and I love her artwork, and when I found the first couple pages of this one on the hana yume site i was like "I need to buy this biggrin" so I plan to buy it in the near future ^^

I totally fall in love with this manga. The story is simple and slowly proceeding but not boring, it is rather deeply emotional. I personally feel some sort of the strong possesive lover sense within the story. The relationship between the two main characters in the first volume is very vague though.
If you want to read something light yet emotional, this can be the one.
