Though I didn't bother downloading the manga, but watched some of the anime...

Bleach is a great story! And I don't think that having a large well thought of plot means dragging on. Although I think that Ichigo is too much obsessed with saving the girls that are taken away, I think that this is a better outcome then waiting for a battle forever. His reactions are reasonable and match perfectly with his personality. Well, what I like most is that Bleach is the kind of story that deals with everything, I mean, it can be really funny, while can also be really dramatic, depending on the situation, without falling apart in the middle and keeping up with it's meaning. Other than that, I love his fighting scenes. They are strong and makes me proud of reading and seeing it. Well, I'm a fan after all.
I will agree with a lot of people here when I say that Bleach DOES drag on... and on.... and on... But the truth is, I've seen worse, *coughnarutocough* so it doesn't bother me that much.
If you take out many of the pointless "sub-boss" battles, however, Bleach isn't that bad. The plot is semi-original, and if you look past the "damsel in distress" plot device, the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo arcs are a lot different. So far the Hueco Mundo arc hasn't been that bad.
In my opinion, half the fun of reading this manga is waiting to see if any of the sub-plots will turn out like you want them to turn out, or the questions you have will be wrapped up in a way you expect them to be wrapped up. Like someone said before, it would be extremely disappointing if things were left unexplained.

Bleach was pretty good , however, Kubo Tite is unable to summarise. That was a rather glaring point in Zombie Powder and even more so in Bleach. When I first read Bleach, I dismissed it as really boring 'cos it was full of cliches and the story just dragged on. However, the next arc was a lot more interesting and the characters were rather well-done.
Yet, the most current arc is a real time-waster. At this rate, the quality of the series is going to be rather unbalanced: tilting from average to sophisticated and vice versa.

I used to be a bit of a Bleach-tard, but in the later volumes, I started losing interest. Fast. The series is becoming much too slow. And the save-the-damsel objective for Soul Society has essentially been reused in the Arrancar arc. I'm just waiting for the end, when it ever comes around...
This is one of the two best series in Weekly Shounen Jump right now (the other being One Piece). The series seem to be another shounen series, but further along, Kubo starts to draw you in with some of the best writing in modern manga, great plot twists that no one could have guessed, and some of the best-written character I've ever seen; Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, and countless others are in no mold but their own. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great story, great characters, and something that captures the essence of shounen while most can only copy it sloppily.
Style? check. Action? check. Girls? check. Badass Protagonist? check.
All the ingredients to make an epic manga, but instead we get ClO2.

i love bleach,, and i do lurvvveee ichigo with rukia (as if it were a shoujo manga) i hope they'll get together soon *sigh*.. x)
