Description
12 members of the Fujimigahara Girls' Academy's Naginata club arrive at a remote island belonging to the club president's family. Legend has it that the remote island had long ago been the hideout of a group of extremely cruel bandits, and that priceless treasures - the fruits of their plunders - are still hidden somewhere on the island.
All is well until their club adviser and two members are brutally murdered. Thereby the curtain rises on the surviving girls' life-threatening battle with a bizarre masked killer...

Large list of characters whose only difference is this one distinguishing feature, namely their hairstyles. Every page consists of forced fan service (which is openly discussed)- impossible panty shots, inhuman jiggling, and an unhealthy obsession for boobs. I'm a chick and I've seen my fair share of boobs but IT SHOULD NOT BE A DEFINING FEATURE.
All and all- go for the ecchi, become desensitized by the cencored gore and become confused by the "wtf, was it actually cancelled?" swift explanation at the end.

This series mostly consists of fanservice and girls dying for no real reason. It's short, has poor plot and inexistent character development which makes it hard to care about the girls dying. Kinda feels like a cheap, rushed knockoff of Umineko.
I wouldn't say it's exactly terrible, but there aren't really any good points to it which makes it a total waste of time.

... ecchi and girls getting killed. There's really nothing wrong with that, but unfortunately this series fails to go beyond that. It is fast-paced and somewhat gripping, but in return character development is almost inexistent and whatever backstory there is feels glossed over. Some parts even feel like a bad shoujo manga on a sugar rush.
I'm not saying this series is bad; just don't expect anything special.

Bloody Maiden is awesome for combining things I like. For example Heavy Metal, Tragedy, Mystery, Horror and Action. I'm giving it 10/10 for now because I've been reading a lot of disappointing manga recently. However this wasn't one of them despite being little bit of like the 80s slasher or 90s splatter movies.
