From Nakama:
Nakano Atsushi, first-year high-school student who didn't open his heart to anybody except his much-loved older sister, even while thinking of putting together a band, isolated himself. His older sister, worried for the obstinate Atsushi, got the cooperation of her fellow student Takase Yuuichi.
The sound of the guitar played by Takase, who takes part in an indie band, is in tune with Atsushi's heart and he was made prisoner by Takase's invite “I'd like you to sing together with me”, just like a love confession... With a lot of material drawn for the occasion, the wandering ... More...

I think the story is pretty good, but it's just not what I'm looking for. I just don't like the main character type. He seems pretty weak and unsure of what he wants. He also seems to not care about other people's feeling, like his classmates and Takase's girlfriend. That might be cool to some people, but I think that's just arrogant and selfish.

The characters' actions may be considered selfish but what I liked was how the mangaka wasn't a romanticized about it.
I've read a lot of stories in wich the author tried to justify characters' bad-dids saying that they did what they did because they were too sensible or loved someone too much. And somehow that was supposed to attone their misbehaviours.
I felt that in this story there was no such thing. The mangaka told whatever her characters did without trying to convice the readers that they had good reasons. She (?) was objective, telling us their thoughts and emotions and let us think freely about them. I liked this a lot.
I just thought it had a rather abrupt ending...

damn I'm really I am, after I read the last chapter my heart just broke in million pieces.
I like the art and the story was great. But what I loved the most was that those two were real atsushi and kenji wow I was in shock but I know the story its not inspired in them but I loved the fact that they're real but about atsush's accident and the fact that after that they cut ties with the mangaka is just sad because we won't know if he died or not ugh. my kokoro.
okay about the story I loved it I really did bc was kinda dark and with unspoken feelings but the end was so bittersweet.

The art improves towards the end because sensei took a break. The story is really good, but if you go back for a reread, you see where the timelines are not quite worked out, however, I did not notice these on my first read. I like the melancholic mood. I liked that the main character was confused about why he wanted to be with his boyfriend or if he was just confusing connection for love. The characters were very well defined with their own motivations and roles to play. Even characters you may dislike, you end up feeling a little pity for. Definitely read it if you're looking for complex relationships where no one is wholly in the right or wrong.

This manga may not be for general audience. It's not that throughout sweet and roses. People's tendency to be fickle is something to note in this manga. Nevertheless, I would always find myself immersed and charmed by this mangaka's poetic and realistic portrayal of characters' thoughts and actions. The art is also charming and just fitting for the story. There's a slight change in the illustration near end as the mangaka took some breaks.
