TLDR: Read NG Life. Story has depth, romance is strong, and comedy is gold.
Long Response: Shoujo isn’t usually known for its deep characters or rich plot. NG Life blows the standards out of the water. It touches on super deep topics like appreciating the time we have, guilt, and what it means to like someone. Don’t worry about it being too depressing though, NG Life makes sure to keep the story engaging and light with hilarious scenes and fluffy romantic interludes.
The characters are amusing and have enough depth to them that they feel real. And most importantly, the story is set up so well. The characters don’t just have momentary feelings for the sake of the plot it’s always tied to something that you might not have noticed earlier.
I cannot stress it enough, NG Life is a gold standard. I’ve reread so many times yet if manages to make me feel just as strongly as I did when I read it the first time. Honestly, if I could give it a score higher than 10 I would’ve. That’s how you KNOW it’s amazing.

..but as the amount of romance grew, the less I was interested. What I liked in the first few volumes was the hilarious dynamics/friendship between Keidai, Yuuma, and Serizawa. (I expected Yuuma-->Keidai<--Serizawa. I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't the case) Of course, within the first volume, I already knew Keidai and Serizawa would be the end pairing and the friendship between the three would take a backseat, but I still kept reading since the series was entertaining (Keidai's expressions..) and I thought Keidai/Serizawa was also good too. Sadly, for me, I didn't enjoy how these two became as the series went on:
The art style is nostalgic yet rather nice on the eyes. Some of the characters are highly amusing. Unfortunately, they don't go through much of a character development and whatever that does change is light and predictable.
Overall, shoujo lovers would enjoy this. Everyone else, it's a hit or miss depending on your sense of humor.

Keidai acts uncharacteristically forceful towards Serizawa ("suave Italian" I guess), and Serizawa became a typical female character who can only talk about her feelings/love.

Unbearably Tear Jerking As a Result of Great Story Progression

The number one thing I would like to point about in this manga is its realistic, convincing developments. When I first began reading this manga I felt like this was a simple nice comical relief, but boy was I wrong. The comical relief was the basic foundation used to solidify each character's background and a foil for the characters in the later chapters. (I really like this aspect because it's quite rare to find a manga that expresses character depth. PS KUSANAGI Mizuho's works all have deep characters.)
So basically half was through the story (seriously like half way) we finally see the plot moving. At first I supported the Sirix x Selena pair, but as we observe Kei-kun's character development, begining to realize it's time to move on from his painful past life, I changed to Kei-kun x Serizawa. The first flag to my betrayal begins when the author skillfully implements souichi mikage and shauna sakakibara into to the mix. Introducing the dramatic, foreshadowing resolve to overcome their past lives. As a result of this arc, it broaden my stone hard heart for this couple, and I became more lenient as to which route Kei-kun would take. Following from there, we begin to learn the heartbreaking, historical details of their past lives, therefore furthering the foundation of the coming tear jerking climax. The details of their past lives allow the dramatic emotions that Kei-kun feels and expresses realistic, reasonable (and most of all NOT ANNOYING!!!<-quite a hard find for a manga). This arc is also where I begin to root for Loleus (hehehe yes I mean the male Serizawa). You can make a clear comparison to Yumma's andSerizawa's past lives. It is clear that the most static and boring character development would be Selena. (Sorry Selena, Although as much as I love you, you seriously didn't change much.) Furthermore it give Loleus a more deserving reason to have a shot at love (in his next life). Finally the arc which begins the most unbearably addicting morsel I slowly began to yearn throughout the whole series, totally smashed my final flag for Sirix x Selena pair and raised the Kei-kun x Serizawa pair flag up high in the air, Kei-kun scaring development for his feelings for Serizawa. It is implied in this arc that Kei-kun thoughout the story wasn't truly Kei-kun, but a former shadow of Sirix where time has stopped (and that clearly is depressingly not healthy I tell you for anyone). The unbearable truth and tragic reasons as to why he can not let go got me crying a river heavily wished for someone. These painstaking emotions felt horrible to the point I didn't care whoever it was I simply just wanted someone to rescue him. (I was like ANYONE ANYONE!!??!! SAVE KEI-KUN HE DOESN'T DESERVE ANY OF THIS!!!) I was grasping at straws at that point, and the only one I saw could touch Kei-kun deep enough and save him from dispair was Serizawa. When they finally "got together" I was like "yes, yes. This is a good ending. This manga deserves a 10."
And that's why I began rooting for Serizawa/Loleus(, and my explanation as to why it was such a tear jerker).
Recommending to Readers who are:
- alright with slow progression
- tolerant to cliches
- looking for a tear jerker (later chapters)
- looking for comical relief (this comical relief depends on the type of person of course)
Additional Personal Comments:
- I cried every time, a total of 2 times. (How odd.... remembering that I was crying during first read. Which was like maybe 3 years ago or so? Must have left an emotionally scaring impression.)
- pretty drawings
- This manga deserves more praise.

I didn't get why lovers (Serena and Sirix) would be reincarnated but not end up together. They spent MORE THAN half the manga talking about how they want to be together always and i pretty sure they mentioned going into their next life and meeting again .It annoyed me soooooo much cause then it had me wondering when they reincarnate the 3rd time are the couples going to stay WITH EACH OTHER.

And there was a reason for that. It was so boring and cliché I only got two volume's in. For some reason people really love this, but I just don't see it. Maybe it's because of the reincarnation, yet there are plenty you better executed stories out there. Alright, the flashback a were sad at times, but the events in the present were really poorly placed. And the introduction of a new character was ALWAYS awful, or at least Keidai hating which was really irritating. I also don't really like the way the romance worked out. It felt too rushed on his part, since it was like he suddenly fell in love with her. I don't think there were many romantic scenes between the two of them, although that may be due to my poor memory.
However, there was the odd times I've laughed that could be counted on one hand, but it might also just be my sense of humor. I personally think that overly protective fathers are irrational and dumb.
I'm not the biggest fan of the art either. Sure, its nice but I don't really like the typical anime look. I prefer a style that has been altered to make it unique to the mangaka, but this is very similar to the art found in anime. Like clannad for example. It's not even an old manga where many artists had the same style.
Essentially , it was boring and cliché at times , but if you want to read a decent manga about reincarnation, go ahead and read this.

Original concept with fine execution. Things were slow at times but that made Keidai's emotional progress more believable and sincere. Other characters were also well developed and had their unique sparks. The humor was not as great as praised, or maybe I just didn't get it. The art looked kinda shounen-ish, which was fresh and appealing to a shoujo fan like me. All in all, I had a very enjoyable time, and highly recommend this.

Hmm.. I really didn't expect much at first, considering I've read quite a number of manga with the Reincarnation theme to them. But this is just too cool. Like REALLY COOL. It managed to keep me reading up to the last chapter. The love triangle's quite unique, too. At first I thought there's like Shounen Ai happening but oh well. This is just too nice.
a must read!

I really like this series.........
The very 1st volume already captured my interest and made me emotional a lot of times...
I like Kei-chan antics but he can be romantic and doting when needed.
I also like Serizawa's dedication and tolerance. Even if Kei-chan hurts her intentionally and unintentionally at times, she always forgives him with a smile. Serizawa is like Kei-chan's sun that illuminates his life.
The overall series was great, it made me cry a thousand times, especially the scene when Serena from the past wishes that he would be a boy instead so that he can die beside Sirix.
What left me hanging was why was Loleus reincarnated as a girl.
Did Loleus secretly wish to be by Sirix side as his most important person.
Does he have a hidden feeling for Sirix.
I wish that the author elaborated this.
I am bit curious too, on how Kei-chan's mother and father met>>>
I really wish to see who Yuuma would end up with.
This series a gem!!!!
It really made a deep impression on me!!!
