This manga is the best Josei EVER. I get so involved and love/hate the characters. We're nearing the end of the manga now and I'm dreading it!
Can't help but feel slightly annoyed that the ending may leave us wondering....

this manga definitely has a happy ending. Yes i can feel it. I think we're going through 2/3 of the story already. The hint Yazawa Ai gives us in the future scenes (with Satsuki and long hair singer Nana) in Nana sures help to think about positive ending. Although i can clearly picture my ending now, i wonder if Yazawa Ai also has the same thought as mine. Haha i hope she does.
To depressing for my personal taste..

IMO Nana is a really sad manga... I mean how much depressing, sad, tragic s*** must these characters go through before they finally get a peace of mind, a chance to relax, maybe a little smile here and there. Come on, the sad tragic crap gets a little old... I guess its nice cuz it is considered to be realistic (which is a nice change) but seriously whose that sad?

Yes nana is a master piece but one that is dragging I feel. I love nana I live and breathe it in my room there nana merchandise and pictures every where. so yes I am a major nana fan but I agree with metamike that lately the most recent half of nana has gotten really rather depressing some times I wince at each chapter which comes out. I'm not saying this because of the recent chapter 77 but ever since volume 10ish it seems that Nana has become very sad and depressing no one is happy and those who are you know won't be for long. But Nana is a beautiful and amazing one of a kind story and because of its depressing elements it makes it all the more beautiful and realistic and yes because you feel so connected with a character you will feel like crap some times when reading it, but that just reflects what a great manga it is because then you will feel happy in another part. A manga which can influence emotions is definitely a master piece. which is why I love it!
Good, not great

I don't know why, but after a while it begins to feel like something is missing. Maybe it's all personal preference. I guess now that I'm on volume 16, I'll continue reading for the several that are left. By now the manga's getting a bit too depressing for me though. Hachi is no longer such a main part of the story, so her humor is no longer having a large influence on the manga. All of the other characters seem to be going through personal relationship issues right now, except for Jun (if that's her name), but she hasn't had an issue since I think the first volume.
It's just getting too sad. Not the kind of sad that makes you cry either, just the kind of sad that makes you feel like crap.
I'll give it 8 out of 10, not 9, because of as I said personal preference, and I prefer mangas that have at least a bit of a happy ending. However with the endings that were revealed in the random time-skips, I see very little happiness.

There's absolutely no complaint I have about this manga. Just pure perfection, and I love the art.
I'm quite confuse as to why people hate Hachi. She's not my favorite person in the manga, but there's just absolutely no logical reason for anybody to hate her. Now, if you hate somebody in this manga that DESERVE to be hated like Takumi, than that's different, but Hachi is just bubbly and very fun, and at the same time, she's realistic and go through things just like a normal girl would.
I mean, you hate her because she bubbly? What's wrong with you? Every time people discuss a heroine, there's BOUND to be a majority of girls that dislike her for whatever reason. Stop being catty b*tches... Please.

I love this manga. I don't really have any complaints about it. I started off by watching the anime and was worried that there would be a quality drop when I read how much further the manga goes in the storyline, but they've been able to stretch it and still keep it interesting.
I really like the characters. Alot of manga has characters who do things that I could never ever imagine a real person doing, but Nana is pretty realistic. People make mistakes, have flaws, and react fairly realistic in the situations they find themselves in.
If you like the genre that this manga is in, I can't imagine you disliking this. Even if you don't, this manga I think anyone could find something to enjoy about this.

Theres not too much to say about this series other than it is probably one of the best mangas ever created. Once you start to read it you are addicted. I love the characters and their relationships with one another. The relationship between the two Nanas is very heartwarming and funny! Love this manga so much!! I can't wait for new chapters to come out!

there is nothing bad i can say about this series. i almost feel like it's unfair to call it manga when it goes beyond that and delves so far into real life that it's almost hard to distinguish. i can't rave enough...it is beautiful, complex and the artwork alone is breathtaking. like they say, every girl needs NANA. i'll be sad when it's over.
