When I read the first four chapters, the main protagonist kind of rememberd me of Shuko Murao in the shoujo manga "Aoharu ride", because she didn´t show any expressions and is in love with her sensei!
Because of that, I really like the main character Suzume Yosano, She is so pure and lovely.
Another thing I like about the manga is Sensei! *__* he is so cute--
and I actually like her friend a bit (Yuyuka was it?) although she is a bit "bleeeh", she is actually nice, because she knows that Mamura likes Yosano and still treats her "well".

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I´m actually hoping that she gets with Mamura together but she will surely end up with sensei :)

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Aaaaaaaaand I need to say that I don´t like the fact that sensei had an Ex-girlfriend who showed up from nowhere- I mean come on! That´s so tipical, it´s in almost every shoujo manga or in mostly every "Older Male Younger Female" categories. Tzzz tzzz..

all in all i really like the manga Hirunaka no Ryuusei and i thinks it´s a must read for all the shoujo fans out there smile

I haven't read a shoujo manga that held my attention for more than a week
Well, except for Horimiya, which is also one of my favorites this year.
Seriously, I've been thinking about these two works for more than a few months now. I know they release once a month, but, I find myself checking for updates almost each week.....that's how hooked I am.

One thing I like to mention are the characters. The heroine in particular. Out of all the shojo heroines I have read, she's one of those that really seems to stand out without trying, considering how simple she is compared to the typical generic heroine. She's not shy, or pitiful, or annoyingly aggressive. She has a level of confidence, without being conceited, yet has her moments of self-consciousness and awkwardness. She's smart, yet her grades could probably say....otherwise. She's also funny.....as in, smart, slightly snarky humor.

And one of the things I really.....REALLY.....like about her, is how she deals with negative people, or negative and anxious situations. Rather than let something....whether it be a person, or a feeling.....put her down, she makes a point to actually try and DO something about it. If someone is belittling her, she makes a point to speak her mind, or even use physical force. Some of you might be imagining chairs flying, but I can assure you, it's not that type of kung fu situation....the thing she did was very simple and the situation was kind of rooting for her to do it. Personally, I applauded her for doing what she did. The things this girl does is both slightly surprising, and quite refreshing. And when it comes to her feelings.... she actually tries. She doesn't beat around the bush about it, doesn't have that "I w-wonder if S-senseii will notice me" (no pun intended) kind of attitude going on. No. She doesn't wait for fate to push her. She pushes herself.

I could say more about the other characters, and the setting, and the storyline, and the simple yet beautiful art, but really, no amount of commentary can help make up for reading the story. If you want interesting, and actually likeable characters, and a storyline that was probably told time and again but this time with a more interesting style, I highly recommend it. Granted, my score could change any time.....I'm kind of nervous by how many chapters are in this series. It makes you wonder if the romance is going anywhere at all. But right now, I really am enjoying it. The guys....I honestly don't know who to root for. This is the first time that I actually like both rivals.

If they license this series in the US, I'm definitely going to be first in line to buy it.

Great with one fatal flaw...

I really like this series. Great art, the characters aren't one-dimensional, and overall the story is pretty realistic for a shoujo manga.

However, there is one very annoying flaw in this manga and it's that the story-line drags on. I've read ahead till ch. 40 in Japanese and (SPOILER) Sensei and Suzume still aren't a legit couple (although I couldn't care less about this since I like Mamura more). IMHO, a relationship-centered shoujo manga shouldn't be longer than 45-50 chapters, especially if it isn't episodic.

Well, I like this so far. It was a pretty sweet and light read. Although I gotta say that I prefer Mamura (the second guy) more than Shishio-sensei. Mamura is definitely more interesting and has more chemistry with Suzume. Not to mention that through their friendship, they managed to change for the better. I really hope the mangaka will change her mind and go to the Mamura/Suzume direction rather than the obvious.

The characters are quite loveable, and the art is no struggle to look at. And though the story isn't anything revolutionary by any standards, the execution is not too bad. Would recommend if you are looking for a school life shoujo to read, and am looking forward to seeing where this one will go. 8')

(Unrelated: I'm totally rooting for Mamura. Um, his happiness, I guess? I don't care who he ends up with as long as he is still the huge dork he is nowwww. <3333)

The art is clean and nice, the story too is nice though maybe not so original but I feel it has some potentials! We'll see how the author develops the plot...hope it won't be disappoiting!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Though, somehow I really wish she won't really fall for the teacher...but she will, I suppose xD I'd rather prefer to see her with the other guy :D

the basic plot of this manga is like other mangas with love triangle, popular male lead and a teacher but what makes it super exciting its character development. suprisingly the second male lead is shy towards women and only ok to her. the girl's also not a type of annoying, cry baby. she seems cool and cold. I love it! a very good development for this manga.

The art is beautiful, exactly the type of art I adore for shoujo mangas. The story isn't really new and it's not exactly used either, but it's refreshing. The characters are interesting, although I don't care much for the sensei, he's cute alright but well... he's like every other quirky male lead in shoujo. Or I just really like the other guy more. I want to read more of this and more of the mangaka's works. She's (her stories lol) are exactly my type! Read it!

The girl is quite tolerable, if not actually enjoyable to read about. There's not a ton of annoying blushing, and she's not hopelessly shy or a crybaby. She's also got a sense of humor and a wit that anyone would admire. I'm not sure how I'm going to like the love triangle that seems to be approaching, but the characters thus far are likable and interesting.
