Typical Shounen

Yup, and as is fairly common with these shounen (or at least "shounen-esque" since this is Korean), the biggest shame of it being padded and prolonged is that the initial story concept was solid. If you take only the first 50-ish chapters of this, we had an intense, dramatic story with psychological overtones of a young man's tragic life and his attempt to persevere and come to grips with not just his relations with others, but also his dramatically handicapped position in his society due to his economic status and broken home. Aaaaaand then they gave us 200 chapters of a generic fight manga biggrin

Ah well, yeah, I'd actually say this one would've been outstanding if they'd just stuck with their initial premise and not stretched it out.......probably would've been 75 to 100 chapters and excellent. Oh well, I still like/d it overall smile

Fairly close to a full 10 score

I really like this series. It isn't perfect, not QUITE a masterpiece, but it gets close.
The reason for that is, that it does some very unpredictable things, the art is top-notch and you don't have trouble following the series. I don't think I've noticed any jarring plot holes.

Girls of the Wild's follows certain stereotypes and for some they may be annoying, depending on who you are, what you don't like about yourself, and what your preferences are.
At the same time though, it doesn't do the usual stereotypes of the weak boy getting beat up, so he trains and wins, meets the next stronger guy and loses to him, so he trains again to win, rinse-repeat ad nauseam. He actually fails spectacularly here and there (Please note, that the series stays logical with the failing. It doesn't turn the boy into a wimp all the time.). In fact, the whole series doesn't focus enough on the martial arts for that cycle of hell to happen.

Which, while possibly a strong point of Girls of the Wild's, might also be one of its weak points. This series kind of hops back and forth between making romance and making martial arts the center piece. This can be annoying if you just want the one or the other, but it also lifts this series above most others in the genre.

Generally, the unpredictability of this series leads to comments and complaints being outdated in a matter of very few weeks, so you really have to take them with a whole bunch of grains of salt. I strongly suggest you read this webtoon and make up your own mind. I don't believe you'll waste your time.

Edit: Now that Girls of the Wild's has been completed, I can also talk about the ending. I personally feel that it was too compressed. It's not a bad ending, it's actually pretty nice to read. But I think it could've stood to be a few chapters longer.

Its cool, but im not so shure about the "main" girl. Sometimes i feel it would be more intresting if they make the relationship develope between the main lead and the girl with the cat ears. She is realy cool.
Dice drawing. And its realy comical somethimes

Great character design. There are a lot of hilarious moments. And obviously the main character will go through some kind of personal growth with martial arts. I would like to see a more developed antagonist or conflict or a goal than what was stated so far.

This is a great Korean webtoon and shows why the medium is surging with so much popularity lately.

Writing and art and everything is fine, but certain aspects of the "rules" just straight up do not make any realistic sense in a functional world. Also the MC is a complete schmuck at the start, to the extent that I hate him. I know it's a weak to strong type of story, but dude is just a bottom feeder that lets himself get stepped on. I would have beat that loser up too. I prefer my weak mc with a little more self-respect

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
And when he finally gets to fight the guy that bullied the hell out of him, made fun of his lack of parents, poisoned his child siblings, brought baseball bats to his house to beat him up, humiliated him, etc, the payoff at the end of that tunnel is that he barely beats him in a match, and then refuses to get stepped on again after. No retribution. Crippling that guy wouldn't have been out of the picture for me. Just not satisfying.

Dal Dal

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
This story changed genre in those last 60 chapters.
When I had just begun reading this, I wasn't too thrilled by it.
With the amount of dissatisfaction that had accumulated, I would read through some of the other peoples' opinions which only furthered the feeling that I just want to get this story over with, at the times when that feeling was present.
This story is, for its greater part, a shonen story. That is to say that silly developments best described as instead of doing the logical, the plot-fertilising choices are made, are all that happens. Actually, that that's all that happens is entirely incorrect..
The people who say this turned bad as it was nearing its end (as of around chapter 200) are exclusively the people who like what I've described above. They like shonen, fighting, dislike drama, or simply can't enjoy something in a way diferrent from the one they've grown to enjoy it in already.
"Girls of the Wild's" is a gem for me. I've been wanting to find a hybrid story, to call it so, such as this. A story which grows on its audience based on something which entirely changes as the story progresses.
It took me as long as it did to read the first 200 chapters, to read the last 60 (in days).
This story is a shonen-harem over the course of its first 200 chapters, and it has caused an innumerable amount of times for me to roll my eyes during the time of reading those first 200, having been unable to take the story seriously because of its developments.
That entirely ENTIRELY changes later on.
This story goes from being a shonen fighting genre, to being about love, turning in to a drama, becoming realistic, changing vastly from the extraordinary daily stuff occurring, to just life going about normally.
It somewhat feels to me like the author simply prepared the ground for his main intent for the story which is the chapters after the first season.
I was dragging myself through quite a number of chapters prior to the "season 2" of the story (literally, the manhwa in itself has a chapter at the end of which it's written that it marks the ending of the first season of the manhwa, that chapter is around ch. 200), but with the coming of the ”2nd" season.. Wow, as if the entirety of the first 200 chapters carry the purpose to cultivate the ground, the latter within me set in and bore fruit splendidly.
I wish there was more to this story.
I want more Daldal. I've been left with a dent in my heart because of her.
But seriously, not in the sense that.. She's cute, and I lust for her or something..
In the sense of how one feels when losing a person they love.
This story being over, and there being no more Dal Dal, it brings about the feeling of suffocating in me..

I was highly disencouraged by the opinions of others, but it's just people who got lost in the story, as the author did perform a trick with the telling of it.
Basically, this story changes genre.
9/10 and not 10/10 because I had some trouble with keeping myself reading the story during its first 200 chapters, the first season, after it it turns 10/10.
I was annoyed over how I was swayed to expect that I would not like the story further more, but just the opposite, as I'd near its end.
It's really great to me, gave me melancholy.

Edit: I am going to add the NTR tag to this as that is what this story boiled down to for me. This story is just so special. It was told in such an overall thought out way.
First the author built up the world, and then in the last 60 chapters worked through it.
This is the only way I can actually legitimately experience the "NTR" feeling. It wasn't forced, it's not even in the genres of the series(and for me it's supposed to be). I grew attached to the characters, but their story is only told of for a while, as their life together only lasted that much.
Gradually, they started going their seperate ways, just as it happens in real life, I guess..
I wish there was more to read through.. I will miss them, remembering Dal Dal makes my chest heavy.
I have set many screenshots among of which there is plenty of Dal Dal as the shuffled among wallpapers for my phone. Seeing an image of her woke me up when I was about to fall asleep, dead tired, the last 3 nights now. Seeing an image of anything from the series really.

Was expecting a martial arts centric manwha

What I got was a youth drama. I figured I could dig it anyway for the romance, but.... As I read on, it became apparent to me that the main characters tend towards stoic. Similar to the Japanese concept of 'Suffer silently". A couple may be rather flamboyant, but it's camouflage. The story is actually really frustrating to me now, as there's lots of misunderstandings because pain and desire tend to be hidden for duty in most characters. Not to mention romance is the last thing on Song Jae's mind. You can see how this could and is going south romance wise, yeah?

I feel this is a pretty mediocre over all. Love the art style though.

I would recommend Holyland over this one. Holyland would be more of a steak, if Girls of the Wild's were a hamburger. Steak's better, but a hamburger isn't bad every now and then. Just save up a ton more chapters before reading it is all I can say.

I really find this series fascinating, in my op. it's similar to Kenichi but more... hm... awesome^^
I personally dislike Kenichi, i find story *caugh**caugh*stupid*caugh*. But we are speaking about "Wild's", so in the same setting of personal growth of male lead you'll be like "omg zomg zomg, i like that!". Even if it'll turn out as *Weak-to-Strong-Male-Lead-Battles-While-Female-Species-Get-Wet" I'am sure I'll continue to read this ^_^
About "Harem" part read World Abyss comment.

Btw, stop saying "Quuen turns in tsundere" she is nothing like that, read what tsundere means first. She's more like "I like you, but you'll never know about that" type.

So many people complaining about how it ended, but just remember that this webtoon is a romance and comedy too LOL, and you'll feel better about it. It's not meant to be serious too.

The martial arts was really cool and nicely portrayed. I really appreciate the action.

I'm not even going to write this seriously because I didn't take this webtoon seriously. I have my complaints re: storyline, plot, and character development, but given that it's a comedy webtoon, I'll let it all slide.

This webtoon is what I consider part of the Webtoon classics, along with Noblesse and Lookism. There are only a few webtoons that are this long in length, has amazing art, is funny, and has a decent storyline/plot. This is one of them. 🙂
