This was the author's first series so I will give her a pass especially because it was published in 2011. Moreso because the author acknowledged in the afterword that they see where they could improve and was apologetic about the e.g. storytelling and character writing. The author has improved tremendously both in characters and storytelling in Unbreakable Master. One thing I appreciate about Unbreakable Master is that it's more...relaxed pacing...? Core Scramble at times had way too much happening on just one page, too much text and I was wondering sometimes where should I focus first.
Gayoon was such and insufferable jerk...I didn't like how he was portrayed (asshole, be an asshole to Chaeun, be an asshole to everyone, but then suddenly worry about Chaeun ).
The ending was both satisfying and not. Probably 3 volumes were the limit they ended up giving the author
Both protagonist seen to be the basis for the other two protagonists in Unbreakable Master.
