How much do we know about Aesop's life?

I'll tell you. Close to nothing. For sure, many of us have heard about his fables, read them when we were younger, all those witted and wicked ways of human world through the personificated animal one. Maybe it was wrong to assume, this modern society, that children are the only ones who the fables were meant to. No matter the age, I'm sure we should refresh our memory on the same. Be it through this story or someway else.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Yet, not that they are many in number or get told in abundance of details
Interesting thing for those who haven't poked their nose in Aesop's real life... He has been integrated in Japanese culture since 17th century, probably known broader throughout cultures on the sailing route of Portuguese explorers (there ain't one man on the ship). Sure, people travelled long before, since long ago and carried the knowledge, did impose it or traded it (the second one most likely) so that's how I get here. How one Korean webtoon, a creator tandem, got to Aesop. smile Facts are somewhat blurry, very poor, and people, who were fascinated by this storyteller's existence, tried to make out something of it based on notes of those living in the older times, closer to his own. Well, sadly, mysterious cloud remains over one's life yet his collection of stories carried on. And mystery and a bit of imagination is just enough to make this webtoon an awesome creation where we explore ancient Greece, the system, the daily life, the politics and wars, personal dramas and their interesting owners, all that as inevitable fractions of our MC's life quest, of the one of our young slave Aesop (yup, what is an "assumed" de facto thing is that he was a slave, as most of us have known). Not spoiling juicy stuff. Not that there's anything I should say is juicy considering real suffering of "our" ancestors. If you can draw a line between those times, the creator's storytelling and what is an omnipresent battle in our civilisation, you are on the good way of empathising. Needed much.
Why, dear, if you haven't yet, and are looking for stories with THE soul, don't you give it a try? wink

A VERY REFRESHING UNDERRATED STORY

I gave it a 10 not because the ranking is low, but because it deserves it. The first few chapters might make you think it as a lame fairytale, but don't stop there. I assure you, it gets better. Maybe even better than some high rating historical manga/manwha.
