Description
From ANN:
The story of the comedy manga revolves around Yūji Yugami and Chihiro Watanuki, who sit next to each other in class. Unfortunately for the transfer student Chihiro, Yūji is weird... extremely weird. Even though he's the ace of the baseball club, he hasn't adapted to the club at all. He also stands apart from the rest of the class, but seems completely satisfied with being alone.

Main characters are unique

What really makes this manga amazing is because of the main characters.

Yugami’s development wasn’t hasty. In fact, a lot of people don’t change drastically which is why in Yugami’s case, even though he is misunderstood a lot, or his ideals almost never changes (not wanting friends), his development is very slow but kind of realistic.

A contrast to Chihiro, who wanted friends so bad and wanted to change quickly. Which met a lot of consequences and doubts. But all is well.

Honestly, thank you to the people who worked on this manga. I never knew the day that this will actually be completely translated.

A great manga from the standpoint of a loner

As a loner, I loved the male protagonist, Yugami Yuuji and his relationship with the female protagonist, Watanuki Chihiro.

Blows past most cliches through an interesting character that forgoes most social conventions, leading to hilarious situations and reactions you can't expect. Tired of generic manga that always follows the same pattern? Read this.

Very, very original work. A well-paced slice of life manga with unforgettable characters. I am very picky but there is not one thing that I disliked about it. I finished reading the last chapter with a peaceful smile.

I love this so much

This manga is the best.

This will probably sound weird, but the general feeling of this manga is a strange combination of Yotsubato and Seigi no Mikata. The somewhat offbeat humor (where you find yourself going: "what the...? lol!") reminds me of Yotsubato, and the wonderful trollishness of the main character reminds me of Seigi no Mikata. I don't laugh at manga much, but I find this hilarious.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Also, when the MC does nice things for the main female lead it is extra adorable because of how misanthropic he is usually.
I love where this manga is going.

And random side note: this manga might have a misanthropic MC, but I don't think the tone of the manga is bleak or pessimistic at all. It's a comedy.

This is a very good story. Funny, unique with some great characters and I love the art style (I am very much for the clean lines and stuff). I think Habanero Scans haven't officially picked it up so somebody should definitely continue it smile

After only reading two chapters, I've come to like it. I found this very interesting since I can somehow relate to Yugami-kun's outlook in life (although not to the point of shunning the notion of friendship). If you're looking for something to read that has a cynical male lead and involves the different views on friendship, maybe you could try reading this.

Fantastic

The core theme of Yugami-kun is change, or lack thereof. The contrast between the main heroine, who wishes to change immediately, and our titular Yugami, who wishes to remain the same drives the manga forward along with a supporting cast that doesn't have one wasted character. They all learn a lot from each other and ultimately change in their own subtle, believable ways. All of it is supplemented by good, timely comedy used to break tension very effectively. If you like comedy and character driven drama it doesn't get much better than this.

Refreshing!

This is a worthy counterpoint to the shounen trope of the Power of Friendship. Yugami ostensibly doesn't have any friends, but he doesn't care; he enjoy life on his own... while often aggravating those unfortunate to be around him. This makes for plenty of great comedy, but there's something more here, too.

I have read the first five chapters, and it's an interesting manga.
The first two chapters had me worried the setting would be kinda depressing/bleak, but after that the comedy gets better as we discover more about the male lead.
