Description
Julie’s family is very poor, and since she’s plain and ugly, as her sister has told her time and time again, she does most of the chores in her house. By accident, she meets the Yee family while trying to get her plane back from a tree in their yard. She meets the family again a year later and is adopted into their family. Soon she becomes a pawn between Mr. Yee’s new wife and his oldest son Ryan, both of which will use Julie as a means to hurt one another. Can Julie survive her new life till she’s of legal age to leave?

Almost on par with hot gimmick. I get that manga isn't supposed to be realistic, but this is just ridiculous. You can't actually expect me to believe that anyone could actually be this stupid.

Ryan tries to run Julie over with a car, he takes her to a hospital and she proceeds to act as if it never happened.

Ryan throws her off of a boat, knowing she can't swim. They get stranded on a beach and she uses this as some sort of segue into becoming interested in him. She literally says "Even though we've drifted to a deserted island, I'm not scared at all. Could it be because Ryan's here? Ever since we were kids, as long as he was there no problem can't be over come." WHAT? He has done nothing but terrorize her wtf?
Anyway, it's a shallow story that tries to have some depth and failed.

Seriously. How was this published? Even if it was translation problems the plot is just terrible and the dialogue ridiculously and plain stupid. My brain hurt just from reading it. Ugh.
It was nice and cute at the beginning, then everything went wrong. The scanlation team changed and all the characters names with it, the story went really messy and the ending was just a joke, really.
In the last volume it seems the author wanted to draw more of a drama than a happy love story. So the overall feeling of the manga changed, and even the characters seemed to have different personalities. Everything was rushed and it was difficult (impossible if you ask me) to understand the plot and its new twists. And by the way, what the heck is that ending??!
Conclusion: it was such a disappointment that I absolutely don't recommend it to anyone...

Everything was OK until the last volume. I'm kinda upset. It was so crappy. They tried to pack so many things in that last volume and completely changed the feel of the whole series. It was such a major disappointment. Absolutely nothing made sense. The characters didn't even seem like themselves at all in the last volume. And what was up with that ending? Can you even call that an ending? It was so ambiguous. Ugh let me not think of it. It's making me upset
I would give it a 10 because I really enjoyed this manhua. But I also felt that the succession of events was a little rushed and the plot was basically every drama that ever existed smashed into one, slightly messy story. The ambiguous ending kind of ticked me off.
The cheery shoujo setting changes into a slightly more engaging and mysterious one. Gave me fan girl spasms all night.

I know that there is a sequel after Gapz Garden, but the sequel was discontinued...
In Ms. Suet Ching's old site, she had bunch of mangas up from the very first that she drew to the latest.. but she had just changed everything in her site recently.. leaving less information about her and her old mangas...
But I do remember seeing a sequel after Gapz Garden on that site... I read the description and it had said something about 小橋 went to the USA in order to find out the truth about 春明.
And while she was gone, 春明 and 之秋 met another girl who is just like 小橋... that's about all I could remember...
I really wish I can find the sequel somewhere.. but it's because probably too old to find it :,(

Overall I enjoyed reading the trilogy, but I'd only recommend it for a more mature audience; due to the need of connecting the dots to understand the ending. It would have been a lot better if the author had been able to have more volumes to allow the story to smoothly evolve. As is, it goes from a light-hearted shoujo, to a serious one in one blink of the eye. Like they say, "Slow and steady is sure to win the race," but sadly, this time, a rabbit appeared.
The ending left me rechecking to be certain that there were actually only three volumes.

i thought i would really like this series, but i couldn't drag my self to finish reading it. it was childish and cute for the first two volumes. then the last one i didn't want to finish, and i'm a compulsive reader. the last volume seemed chopped and crammed, it became difficult to follow. plus the scanlator changed and all the character's names with it!

The ending is basically Ryan leaving Julie in the garden to go to the hospital to get treated. Notice before he put the ring on her finger, meaning that even after all of this, they will still love and stay together. The shadow that you saw is Lance coming to pick her up from the garden to go home. She questions in the end that what if she was never adopted, would her life be the same.
I was confused too, but it made sense when I fit all the puzzles together. And I loved this manga, but I agree that the ending should be more straightforward.

I dunno what really happen in volume 3 especially the last part. I have a hard time reading it due to the drawing (or probably because I read from scanlation made by different group for volume 3) but I think the story in vol 1-2 was ok. And I agree with people comments about the heroine being so indecisive. What's with the "what if?" question. What happen to Ryan during that hide & seek game?
I have mixed feeling to rate this manga.
