Description
From Viz:
Yuichiro’s dream is near-impossible, given that vampires are seven times stronger than humans, and the only way to kill them is by mastering Cursed Gear, advanced demon-possessed weaponry. Not to mention that humanity’s most elite Vampire Extermination Unit, the Moon Demon Company, wants nothing to do with Yuichiro unless he can prove he’s willing to work in a team - which is the last thing he wants.

cheesy and cliched, but enjoyable nontheless

If you're looking for a masterpiece plot, this probably isn't for for you. Seraph of the End is filled with cliches such as "I'll protect everyone" and "Let's be friends" and is inconsistent in its pacing and tone at times, and definitely has many plot holes, but despite all that it's carried through because its shounen themes have widespread appeal. Don't think too hard about this one and you'll enjoy the ride. Did I also mention that the art is very pretty?

i'm surprised there's many varied opinions about this manga.
i honestly think the story is not that bad. actually it's good. well, because the theme is about vampire, it doesn't mean it's boring or what. and because the protagonist is a bit self-centered, it doesn't mean he's bad or anything. hell, not many protagonists are like him, who can really overcome his dark side and his enemies. actually, he's pretty cute and strong.
yeah, gotta agree the initial chapters are a bit cliche. but towards chapter 10 and so on, it gets very interesting. i even check the raws because i cannot stand waiting. lolz
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
and there will be many destruction there and there. well, it's good rather than being aimlessly gory. and just check the writer who is responsible for the story. there will be many plot twists. i'm quite sure about it judging from his previous works.

and the art..... do you still need to ask? it's flawless. in color or monochrome. i like the mangaka from when he wrote Kure-nai.

seriously, as people say, just prove its worth on your own.

PS: don't forget check the anime in 2015~

slow-paced, but interesting

At first I was like "meh, dark fantasy revenge and sh*ts?" But I thought it might turns interesting in the future, so I held back from giving a score.
But then, the plot thicken starting from chapter 10++., so I guess I'll give it 8-9 of 10 for now, since I'm still waiting for the plot to be fully developed.

And for some dipsh*t who were badly judging a manga just from reading less than 10 chapters; do you think every single manga in this world is a 'one-shot'?
Get a grip, dolt. It's like judging a whole novel after reading only 10 pages of it.

Kind of disturbing for weird reasons.

This manga has a really odd habit of doing things in a creepy manner. The first chapter basically set the tone for me with one of the characters essentially being a male (and child) prostitute to a vampire.

After that, it still keeps the tone in this dissonant state. It even toys a lot with a peaceful school setting, but it never leaves the mentality that every character in the cast could be killed off on the next page. It's mysterious without having much mystery, and it feels like much of it is just going through the motions without any real idea of why.

I'm kind of in the opinion that it will live or die by it's tone, because that is about all it has going for it.

The premise is very interesting and the art is nice. It seems to be developing at a good pace, too. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to like the protagonist very much (he's been built well as a character IMO, it's just my personal preference). Other than that though I'd give it a 8 or 9 at least.

Like others have mentioned before, the entire prophecy thing isn't even mentioned again (as of chapter 11). Also, the first time Yuu fights vampires with in the squad, I expected the vampires to be stronger. Yeah, I know, the demonic weapons made humans stronger, but they said that vampires were 7x stronger and faster. I assumed this was about the normal vampires, and that the higher leveled ones would be even more pro. I guess I wanted the fight to be more thoughtful than a simple charge, slash, and kill. Also, I wish they expanded more on the vampire weapons and the different levels they have. Why is my rating so high then? I'm just biased towards manga where friends are pitted against each other<3. Also, since the plot seems to be just beginning, I'm hoping any other questions I have will be answered whenever appropriate.

Oh god, where to start?

The revenge driven protagonist after he grows up literally being treated as human livestock?
The apathetic vampires who justify destroying the Earth because humans would have done so in the future anyway?
The oh-so-"dark" implications of humans using demonic weapons in a post-apocalyptic world?

And this is all within the first 8 chapters.

Unlike some below namely liquid who doesn't even know what they're talking about anyways judges something with only a few chapters. I hold my judgement until the plot has actually started.

It's the same author for Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu and Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi. If anyone is familiar with his works you know his plots tend to take awhile to work out I guess the term I'm looking for is. He's also not one to pull punches on the blood and gore.

Also with his thing it's the same premise of friend vs friend in that sort of fashion too. The scans are behind but if you've kept up with the raws you'll know that things have started to kick into high gear and the plot is finally moving forward.

Well, there are a few plot holes and some cringe moments e.g. when our MC walks out of hell and immediately meets up with people spouting "he's the chosen one, blah blah" which is totally ignored right after which gets me guessing that even the author regretted drawing that as well. But hey, I like the characters, the story flow, and the premise. There's some hope for this (subjectively) fun shounen-y cliche series if you don't take the nitty gritty too harshly. This feels very similar to Ao no Futsumashi so if you liked this or that, I'm sure you'll find some fun with the other.

the review from liquidsin is wrong.

Even in the first chapter it was told that the vampires wear armbands to protect themselves from the sun. And in recent chapters it even shows that they can survive a bullet to the head. Not to mention the 7 times stronger and faster than humans.

I liked the manga so far, above average for sure but it makes me want to read more, i like this kind of protagonist.
