Chapter 34
Retarded bitch lmao, u never supposed to enter a battle expecting people to stop fighting because u r there
Chapter 42 was very unneeded, u didnt need to show the vampire raping the fiance and showing the fiance saying its good. Like bruh, we already get that the vampire is a dick, no need to show that he has a sex drive, also hated how the brother guy let vampire guy free cause why not,

Ok ata certain point the manga comes from a 5.5 into a 7. It good

Chapter 263 is such bullshit, if u know what im talking about, about the eye and blood, like bruh

Insufferable loophole and moodswing
by Hyoukami

Rating: 3.0  / 10.0
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The "world" setting is.... Weird. Nothing strange when they enter the island but when they trying to escape there's.... something that impossible to not notice. Both the 'monster' and the geologic condition.

The tranquilizer property of their bite is also weird, not to mention that the inconsistency of the infection is... GAAAAAH. Look here, the MC's brother got two big open injury and he's the frontline that fight the vampires. Bloods splatted everywhere so he should be infected. Right? Right? WRONG! He's a damn Gary Stu he can't be dead. When they failed to escape the island and separated he can find his way back to his master like it's a walk in a park. ..... Why?
One of MC's friend is missing in the island that treating them like a food(medicine actually), yet he come back as the infected just to be introduced as 'something new'.... What? They trying to kill the MC's group but infect this one friend instead. And he already progressed so far BEHIND THE SCENE... Why!?

Now we talk about the moodswing. The brother against them rescuing one of his friend. He said it was suicide. The MC insist he would go whatever it takes. The brother said wait, it actually possible, if we wait TOMORROW. Damn everything is just conveniently put in its place for the sake of plot in this manga.

Awesome action and central theme, don't expect too much depth

Contrary to what the others have written, I don't really consider this a particularly disturbing manga. There are a few rape scenes here and there, but that's it. The violence was very tame for the most part, excepting maybe a few places where a vampire was split apart, but even those weren't particularly graphic.

You'll have to suspend a fair amount of disbelief to enjoy the story; a deus ex machina seems to appear and save the day every three volumes or so. Main character deaths are much rarer than you'd expect and are always intended to aid the character development of the protagonist. Still, Akira's development is done pretty well, even if the manga doesn't offer much in terms of depth outside of it. The various giant monsters are also awesome (no, the manga doesn't just offer vampires); I particularly loved the little girl one near the end and wish I could have seen more of her before Akira killed her. And the fight scenes are great to get your adrenaline up with tasty amounts of blood splashing onscreen. Overall a very enjoyable story, even if it's not a very deep one.

A rating based on what's being scanlated so far only

Higanjima is among the minutest portion of manga that I've read that actually get better after the first volume. Its a strong character driven survival manga. Akira's development into a devilishly skilled swordsman driven by his past failings is a joy to read even if a lot of the earlier plot elements introduced are never followed up on like Akira's ability to predict certain outcomes due to the fact that he is skilled story teller, which is completely dropped soon after the idea is introduced. Unfortunately the wow factor does not last as the manga eventually becomes a never-ending gauntlet of pointless action with the obligatory time wasting flashback arc to explain how the island ended up the way it is thrown into the mix. The same pattern leads into the sequel. Since none of this has been scanlated yet I am simply rating this manga on what has been scanlated & at the current place the English translations are at the manga is still good.

No Dice

Started off pretty interesting. The characters were not very likable, but I don't mind unlikable characters in horror since there's always the hope that they'll get killed off. I was very captivated by the story and the vampires actually seemed strong and fearsome. Then around chapters 50+ it became a shounen.

No not literally, there's still plenty of blood, gore and excessive nudity. But it was exhibiting all the shounen tropes. Characters don't die from wounds that should kill them. They're now tanking hordes of vampires, killing them with a single strike. Regular vampires that took desperation, skill and lots of luck to kill became cannon fodder. All the tension from the first vampire encounter is lost. Then things go all Beserk on us with a revenge plot.
Not only is it not nearly as interesting or heart wrenching as Berserk's story, it's all narrated to us while in the middle of a FIGHT with the vampire boss and his horde of demons. And of course he just waits around for them to finish talking, it's not like he's trying to murder them or anything.

So now that the author has made it clear that he has no intention to keep this vampire story either interesting or scary, I'm going to treat it as a shounen(with extra blood and boob). Since this is now a shounen that means I'm going to have to actually like(or at least not hate) one or two characters to stay interested.
There's Akira- Starts off wimpy, grows a backbone but not a very interesting one. Big Bro- complete badass, but made such a dumbass mistake that it's forever tainted his character. Anybody else? No more remotely interesting characters? No? Okay then. At 33 volumes it's a pity it loses steam by volume 7.

Rating: Not Recommended if you want something scary.

so, i found this title so intriguing--in both good & bad ways

minimal characters faces, bad women body proportions, and dull emotions
yet they rather compatible with the genres
the plot is so-so, and i dont like vampires based manga
yet i keep reading it
and waiting for the future releases

but its too absurds how keep standing still without doing anything
just screaming and watching
and take too many pages for that

and everyone seems wears same squared shoes

aaw...

Good Read

I liked this one a lot. However, anyone squeamish shouldn't read it. I spent my whole day finishing all 107 chapters. I didn't know I would like it as much as I did at the beginning the main character seemed kinda lame and not the type I enjoy reading about but the story became great and I like Akira as he is now. I watched a bit of the live action movie... it was not what I hoped but the manga is excellent. I hope someone picks it up or its licensed so I can read more.

It's pretty much the proverbial bad accident

It's gross and horrible, but for some reason you can't look away. It's super explicit (nudity, sex, rape of various kinds, etc.), very violent and disturbing overall, and the artist doesn't have a whole lot of talent (I think he can only draw maybe 3 kinds of faces), the storytelling feels rather juvenile, and but for some reason I keep coming back for more.

[Also, it's published on a weekly basis, so the chapters are short, and the first two pages of each chapter is a repeat of the last two pages of the previous chapter. Which I guess is a necessary evil, but it's annoying.]

friday the 13th without the hilarious camp. as it is, it merely exists in that alternate classmate-fodder dimension. it's like an unedited regurgitation of a dream. i might finish this roadkill jerkfest because it can't be wholly unredeeming as a story, can it? i mean, it can't be worse than religious comic books, right?

all gore, straight forward development, too convenient of elements introduction, and blunders.

things i called to convenient is like this; when it seems all hopes are gone, you got extra 'one more chance' card to feel relieved for a while, oh, they must to do that before they can kill us, we got more time. when it seems you get hang of it, you got 'oh no, new stronger enemy' card to feel dreaded once again. the story is like forced to go on a lil longer by introducing previously unknown card. it reeks poor planning.

and i haven't talk about blunders...
