Mixed Feelings

So far I have read about 20 chapters of this and honestly I came close to dropping it after chapter 18 since the story was getting pretty mundane but ultimately decided to continue reading since the plot seemed like its picking itself backup (hope it stays that way)

I never do "review" of series but this was too much to bear.
For the ppl who started this and think that the MC is going to stop crying every 3sec and going to do something are mistaken.
Its 29 chapters on constantly whining and hypocritical BS

I couldn't finish it

I like the idea of the story.. but the main character really ruined my enjoyment. He is one of the worst main char in shounen manga I've read so far. I was reading up to ch 25 of those 29 chapters before I decided I could't tolerate it anymore. No char development, except he's getting worse. He's.... just so Lame... -.-;; . I was nodding with agreement when the sister finally shouted at him how he is done nothing to solve things, that he's just preaching morality. And being so aggravating. Considering this is only 29 chapters and you need to wait until chapter 22+ to see the main character finally show his skill momentarily. This is really not a worth reading -.-;; I need to refresh my mind now by reading Tokyo Ghoul~

its a stupid western superhero idea.
they just cant understand this crap.
if u dont permanently take down the killer he go someplace else and kill another where u may not be present to save them. and thus u will be responsible for that murder.
this is what really angers me the most abt the manga.

A weak, useless Male Main protagonist ? I doubt it :).

Overall i give this manga 8/10. Good Story, Good art.
People scream about the male main, but i think he isnt a weak, atleast he still never change at his ideal about the good of people and human society. Do you think a person, who abused, toyed, and nearly lost all of his hold dear by the evil of the others, but still keep on his good ideal can be a weak ?

In the contrast, if Reiji is a powerful guy, but give not a damn about the "good", so his sister will be nothing. Who she will be if her brother like others "evil". There will be no reflection, opposition, ... between them, and they are nothing in the true meaning of this word smile.

....

Hmph, of course we see a future of this manga, like the others KDY mangas XD. The Male Main soon will become a powerful character, rescure his sister, discover the secrets of this world, and have an noisy harem XD. I dont want a harem, its must be darker, more stress, more intensive, and kills XD.
Sorry about my bad English o.o.

I read this shit in one go. Though I know Dal-young bad reputation I just can't stop reading this mango. To be honest, If only the pussy called "Reiji" didn't fvcked up so much, I might enjoy this shit. But hell, Reiji is such a hypocrite. He eats his own feces. He trusts people that want to kill him again and again, but throw her own sister like a used condom. What the fvck Dal-young. I fvcking hate you all over again.

And the ending itself is shitty like Reiji. I don't know what's going on with Dal-young's mind when writing this mango. What a waste of time. And yeah, I wont read the so called "sequel".

A taker of my time

So let's start with the positive things.

1. The art is great.
2. Ayaka (The only character you will like)

That's it.
The male protagonist is a failure at life.
He's one of the most naive characters in a manga I have ever read.
He keeps trying to trust people that tries to kill him and his sister.
And this just keeps going on and on until the manga ends.
To be fair though, his personality does change in the last 10 pages, but it's just to late.

The story itself isn't really that bad.
But the main character has the most screentime, so it's painful to keep reading it.

I really can't recommend this series. You are better off reading something else.

This one is from the same people who are doing "Freezing". The plot kind of reminds you of "Gantz" This series started promising but reaching the final chapters the mangaka lost control of the story and it gives you this "Was that all?" feeling. Personally, I hated two things: the brother Keiji: biggest pussy in the manga world! You'll find that guy always doing one these: complaining, whining or crying. You get this urge to be in the manga just to slap him to death for being so stupid while his sister was doing all the work! The other thing I hated was the ending. The mangaka manages to build momentum in the final volume and by the time you reach the climax, you get this "that's all folks!" ending where nothing concludes. Really disappointing!

Mediocre story

This is another mediocre story from Lim Dall-Young. I'll give the author credit for being able to write so many stories at once and still have them be at the very least mediocre. Once again, we're treated to a weak, useless male MC who is borderline retarded, which is alright, because we're aiming for realism here, and not everyone can be smart in the real world.

The art is great and the writing is actually not as bad as some of Lim Dall-Young's other works, which was a refreshing surprise. Re:Birth is entertaining if you're looking for a slightly darker shounen action series with harem elements. Lots of random killing, hot girls want the loser MC's cock, inexplicable powers, people not being able to see the obvious, etc. It's all there and done in a pretty good way.

I would have given Re:Birth a 7 but the ending is one of my biggest pet peeves. A definite cop out by the author. I know there is a sequel but it doesn't seem to be connected to Re:Birth.

tl;dr: If you're looking for a light hearted story, search elsewhere. If you're looking for meaningless deaths and a run of the mill; somewhat darker shounen action with harem elements, look no further!

Seriously...

I seriously want to stop reading this garbage. How incompetent can the main character (guy) be. Not only that but the woman... always on with the same excuse. I mean, the art is great and so is the concept. The problem is with the characters and such. There's a limit to how incompetent you can make the main character in a manga. It basically goes on in the entire series. The only reason I keep on reading this, is because I'm already halfway through it (15 out of 29 chapters) and I always finish what I start.

The concept and idea is great. The art is great. The characters are bad.
