Description
The exceptional martial artist and proud hierarch of the Demonic Sect, Mookhyang, winds up in a strange new fantasy realm after falling victim to a curse cast by his enemies, the Blood Sect. But when Mookhyang’s incredible control over qi, or mana, becomes known, it’s only a matter of time before he gets cursed again… and turned into a young lady?! In this world of elves, mages, knights, and dragons, will a mastery of Chinese martial arts be enough for one man (or woman) to fight his way back home? Or will this humbled warrior finally concede defeat?

Pretty good story and art (backgrounds are LQ, but consistently waterpaint-y does have its charms)
The gender bender is a nice twist and done in a believable way. though not all of the effects on his/her actions may be as obvious due to the medium (comics dont lend themselves well to deep backgrounds).
that said, considering his power there *should* be a way for him to resist (such) magical effects... which he would surely have noticed if he didn't consistently underestimate anything he runs into in this world.
I guess that is one of his major weaknesses.
Anyways, too bad the story is not as deep as it could be, but it is still executed pretty well. I guess I should probably look into official transaltions of the novel as well.
The lack of uber-OP protag plot-armor with unreasonable plot-points that basically only favor the protag or his/her token servants and unrealistic opponents so far added to the above means it is definitely a worthy read.
Some gender-bender enthusiasts may be disappointed by the seeming lack of psychological impact, but we should not forget that the protag is supposed to be 72 years old and has had a rich past of mental tempering.
Definitely worth a read.

The relieving herself due to memory-loss is a bit over-the-top, but not totally unbelievable considering muscle-memory (it didn't happen before that moment. And she has forgotten what to do with the signals of 'a full bladder'😉

Surprisingly enough, this isn't the usual "mc gets op powers and a harem" garbage

This is one of the few stories on this site that has a plot beyond "just use OP powers and make girls wet xddd" or "just get pampered by flawless men xddd".
It also has substantial character development, which again, is extremely rare in stories on this site. Most authors think character development is "just level up and get more op powers lmao".
To start off with, the MC is an OP cultivator, gets isekaied and finds out that everyone in this world is way weaker than he is. But instead of just going around and beating up "bad guys" while women throw themselves at him (which is what usually happens in stories like this), the MC loses his powers and has to get rescued by the normal guys that he used to look down on. He falls into depression, starts drinking, but one of his companions convinces him to not give up and start over. Even when he gets his powers back and think he's unstoppable, he gets humbled again because he underestimated an opponent that he thought was weaker, because he didnt understand how the technology in this world worked.
The author also takes care not to focus on the MC too much, there are many chapters where the focus is on other characters in order to give them their time to shine and progress the plot instead of having everything revolve around the MC powering up (which again, is a common flaw in this genre).
It's very refreshing and there are many memorable characters with their own personalities and goals, instead of the usual cast of cookie cutter stereotypes that are just there to make the MC look good (because the MC is usually just the author's self insert).

I really tried to like this, since I like action and gender benders, but damn this is so frustrating
Like bruh at this point I’m just waiting for this dude to go back to his original body, I don’t get why the authors decided it was a good idea to make him into a loli (which also makes him lose almost all the progress he made in almost 30 chapters) And he also gets amnesia?! Wow could it get more frustrating.. but I mean at least the arts..good?

If you're looking solely for brainless manga with overpowered main hero to indulge your cravings for power - this manga is not for you. SUDDENLY - it has plot. And a good one. And SUDDENLY the characters here feel alive and well made, they are not just a dull background that makes our hero shine in front of it. Nah. First Dark helps others and showing his badass side then Dark is in trouble and others help him, they are weak, but they try their best it's very nice and feels like family relationship not just teammates. Except the mage. Yeah, the mage is true to himself.
I highly recommend this manga to anyone with common sense, if you're baffled by other negative reviews please reconsider. Those people read it only for power fantasy. If you want plot you have different path than them. Those people praise art but not author. Yet artist can't draw backgrounds at all. He is not that good. You should have zero taste to like that. Though he good at character design, I will give him that.

First off I don't care about gender benders or anything of the sort but the way this writer did it was just handled incorrectly. He should have killed himself and the story should have ended there. It's somewhat believable as to how he picks himself back up and everything but it just goes down hill fast from there. (with the writing) He's forced to join up with a bad faction? As he has no other choice... Which is against his own morals... >,> Then he fucks up getting stronger quickly and loses his memory... Yes, memory loss. I HATE memory loss. It's so easy for writers to do a memory loss ark for whatever excuse just to prolong the story. And that's not all... I guess the writer thinks it's funny having a fully grown man at physical and mental peak to turn into a little girl then lose his memory just to piss himself. I'm not even joking about that... That really was the last page of chapter 60... Which was the last straw for me... It'd be funny in a different story/setting but not this one... Not for me at least... I just find it sad and depressing.
The writer is simply trying to see how low they can go before either their editor tells them to stop or the readers stop reading this garbage. (It only got 1 point for me simply because of the art)... Last updated on May 24th, 2020, 8:12am

For those who got turned off by gender-bender then just skip everything and give chapter 58-59 a try.
That was what I initially wanted to say but ffs in chapter 60 he again f..ed up. Hope he isn't suddenly turned into a stupid little b...

The story is just what the description tells you . The author more or less tells us how magic works and sets the scene in the first chapters . And then he goes on exploring this new world richer in 'ki'.
It has stayed in the upper 100 of the yearly rank quite some time so it is obviously not a bad story 150+ of the other ranks.
If you are looking for a shonen or your typical gender bender this won't be it .(characters don't always win ,nor there are ass pull power-ups,on harem nor are they randomly changing their gender ).
And yes
(still pretty bad ass
If you don't like it after ch 28 because your ideal MC has to be a macho man .Down with the archetype of the harem heroes.
And lastly if you are not into fantasy/war stuff it might not be your cup of tea. Also there's no random masacres ,tortures... instead there's actual plot.

I had originally thought Ero-sennin was going too far with his review but after reading what's been translated and re-reading the reviews here, I feel like he didn't go far enough. There's plenty of reasons to hate on this manhwa but people are picking the absolute stupidest reason to bitch.
Simply put, if you think chapter 28 ruined this manhwa, you're an idiot. "Black" was a garbage protagonist at chapter 0. You can excuse the 70+ year old protagonist for acting like an idiot man-child who somehow magically reached the pinnacle of martial arts but becoming a weak girl is too much for you? If you really feel like that, you're more worthless than the protagonist.
Honestly, waiting that long to gender flip the protagonist would have been a smart move, if the author had the skill to actually make anyone sympathize with the protagonist. Spoiler alert, the author is not that skilled. No one cared about the protagonist before he had his gender flipped and no one cared for his pathetic state of mind afterwards. It was a setup that could have garnered a great deal of empathy but it ultimately fell flat. The fact he kept childishly picking a fight with an actual child and treated her like a burden, all so he could "turn into what he hated most," was a really poor way to handle the whole setup. So, it's no surprise that the follow through was just as garbage.

There is not enough amount of suspension of disbelief in the world to make this plot good.
These authors should just stop trying to do this gritty plots, if they can't have their characters maintain any semblance of a cohesive modus operandi, it is either a dark side dude that kill whoever, or an gullible dumb dude. It takes real skill to do both reasonable well, and this author just can't deliver.
I do not recommend this to anyone.
