really really cute story...! It's a great story about how communication is important to relationships. The ending is a bit rushed and leaves a few questions unanswered and [as others have said] there seems to be an emptiness in story...like something that needs to be said is left unsaid.

The artwork is so beautiful and I love the connection of events in the story!

Highly recommended!

I just read this manga, it's a good piece of work, the drawing is beautiful, like i like it in shoujo, but as someone said before, there is something missing and one can't get to empathize with the main character us much as one would like. Also the ending is a bit to abrupt and one doesn't get to know what happened between Chihiro and her new boyfriend. Anyway i still enjoyed the strory and would recomend it to anyone that wants to read a light and short story.

it was a great manga with excellent artwork. something did seem wrong though like the solution of the plot should've been different or something. and there really is no focus on the gay couple who raises the heroine.

Something seems missing. The manga is enjoyable but rushes through the emotions so it is a bit difficutl to sympathize with the characters.

Sweet Short Stories

"Cherish" is an amazing story for one simple fact: It portrays a realistic gay couple in a positive light. You don't really see that very often in manga - too often, homosexuals are sensationalized and presented as some kind of sparkling bishie sex-starved weirdos. Here, they're responsible and sensitive adults who have successfully raised a sweet and intelligent college-aged girl. Now THAT is refreshing to see.

The artwork is also wonderful (as would be expected from this mangaka) and the couple is adorable and sweet. I didn't mind the fluffy and convenient plot device at the end as some did. I thought it was a clever way to end the story with all parties happy smile

"Happiness" takes the other road. It doesn't tie things up neatly to provide happiness for all, but rather leaves things a bit open-ended. It can safely be assumed what will happen with the characters, but it's not the neat (and happy!) conclusion you might've hoped for. I think the ending was what sort of ruined this short manga for me. It just seemed like nothing much got accomplished or even happened in this story... and the ending was just more of the same. Nothing much happening.

Still, I think this volume is entirely worth it, even if only for "Cherish". "Happiness" is just an added bonus - and as such, it's quite a charming little read smile

The plot was okay. The dilemma is the fact that the heroine is being raised by gay lovers but her love interest has a hard time coming to terms with that. I personally would myself...tough issue. But in general its an alright read, it doesn't focus all that much on the "gay" part for those of you that are concerned, since it is under a josei category.
