This was a good read. The movie disappointed me a lot; the teacher-student interactions weren't present and those are required to show why the students respect and love Koro-sensei.
One thing I really like (about the manga) is how the assassination skills were integrated into daily life, proving to be useful life skills. Koro-sensei did a great job.
I am as fond of Koro-sensei as the students are. The fact that I still regret a certain development so much is credit to the mangaka for creating such a loveable character.

Koro-sensei is just grow on you and you can't help it. His wittiness, his love for his students, his stupidity and ecchi-ness. At fist I thought this just another absurd and weird manga, but the more I read it, I found this manga is really heart-warming. Please read it and love Koro-sensei too!

I gotta say, starting out I loved this manga. It was interesting, unique and had a funny but serious tone on the school life/slice of life genre. However, honestly after so many chapters just like naruto, bleach, one piece, fairy tail, and ALL OTHER shounen manga, I eventually dropped it. It just became way to repetitive and dull. Also the story arc that's taking place now should have taken place a LONG time ago.
In the end I'd say if you don't mind a common but unique twist on a modern day shounen manga then be ready for a wacky, crazy, sometimes sad, sometimes serious story with the right balance of action and drama to keep you excited for a while.

A nice touch of originality on the school life norm with the koro-sensei-going-to-"destroy-the-earth"-issue and whatnot. Really enjoyed the characters since they're all so unique and different. It is a little cliché sometimes with the flashbacks and the like, but there is enough plot to keep you hanging on without a sudden overload of events and plotwists.
Love(d) it

I started reading Assassination Classroom almost a year ago, when it only had 50-70 chapters or less. It was really good and funny. The balance between comedy and action was there, and though it was running on a dangerously thin line between the two, it stood to be really good. Well, to me, it was, until the manga took so many different turns, it became rather painful to read in the end.
I'm seriously wondering if I should take this off my favourite manga list. I suppose I'll have to wait to see the new chapters before I can decide...though this was a really engaging read at first, the process was rather...weak, in the end. Like they did it for the sake of doing it. I'm quite disappointed with the manga now, for the random (and I feel rather unneeded) turn of events.
Well, this is my personal opinion of the manga. It's a good one, but I'm thinking of removing it from my lists...others may beg to differ about this manga being good throughout, but for me, nah.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Firstly was when Itona (the one with tentacles) came in, and the random mask guy.How they bought over some guy, and shit happened. That part was fine, but when I'm re-reading it, I always skip that part, because, seriously? You added a random masked guy which nearly killed the entire class to kill Korosensei? No less, he's Kayano's (that's not even her real name, wth?!) BROTHER?! Like dude, that's overdone. I mean, I can imagine why, since the brother has the tentacles cuz his sister was working in a research facility which Kayano picked up, but seriously? Plus their sister was the one who Koro-sensei most likely fell in love with, thus becoming a teacher? (And, why the heck would he leave a note for Kayano to take revenge. A little...titbit you don't really do unless you're asking for your death.
And then I come to the part of Kayano. I really started dragging my feet on reading the updates when Kayano wanted to kill Korosensei. Some people may like it, but I don't really fancy it. She's actually the best assassin in the entire class due to the tentacles, instead of Nagisa? (I root for Nagisa for being the best assassin, truth be told) For me the manga really took a turn for the worst in that arc. Plus, Nagisa kissing her. (Ouch. I'm a KarmaXNagisa fan) I don't know why, but this manga has the tendency for making the weakest characters becoming the best assassins...

The concept of an alien instructing a classroom full of kids on assassination is refreshingly original, as mentioned by pretty much every comment before mine. However, while the classroom is as wacko as I'd hoped for, the atmosphere gets annoyingly serious sometimes with oh-so-tragic pasts and life-lessons. Since pretty much everything else about the manga is so over-the-top, it really makes the shift in tone come off as cheap and cheesy instead of emotional and heartening. I know it eventually has to become more emotional and plot-driven because they'll be killing their beloved sensei, but the way it's handled right now is really awkward.
It's interesting though, and, depending on how the ending plays out, could really shine. Definitely worth a look.

One of the best manga I've read so far... comparable with fullmetal alchemist, gintama, lucifer and biscuit hammer (hoshi no samidare). The plot is original and developed really well. All characters have strong personal trait and no one is dumb enough to become side dish figure. The art blend really well with the theme of the story... Overall, still flawless so far (with standard of error 5%) in my opinion of course. Thanks for the genius author...

I first thought this was going to be a very weird series, and it is, but it really has some depth to it. It really is worth reading. One thing I'm still confused about, is why the whole class is so prideful about wanting to kill their teacher. Sure saving the world and getting a reward is one thing, but they talk about killing their teacher themselves like it is the most innocent thing in the world. I just don't get it.
Why?

Why is this marked Tragedy? I mean, I know something happened in Koro sensei's past, but is it because of that? Or is something going to happen after they kill him? Anyway, I really love this, Matsui Yusei is a genius for making it. And I can't wait for the anime adaption!
