Don't Read It

(The Art was good, really good, full of details, the hair styles where really well done, I'd be lying if said it wasn't, so I gave it a 3 because of that)
About the plot:
CLICHÉ SHOUJO MANGA
It was unnecessary long, and the plot was just average, the parents were really bad parents (yeah, there are like two options in shoujo manga for parents: 1. they (practically) don't exist 2. They are bad. I know) and the protagonists where dumb, SO DUMB, of course, with those parents there wasn't much we could expect of them, but it was the extra that killed this manga for me, it was so, so predictable that I wanted to cry.

I made a mistake by reading this manga, I hope my review helps you to do not.

Let me start off by saying I loved the beginning of this manga and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the ending.

With that being said, boy did this manga frustrate me.

It started off so interesting it really reminded me a lot of Kare First Love which is a good shoujo, in my opinion, with a bit of unnecessary smut to give it a teen demographic. Except this one lacked good drama, instead it was whiny teen drama (minus the almost rape which was really ridiculous).

Regardless, the story started off really good and had an interesting plot but I felt like any true "tension" was thrown away in favor of bickering and making up.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I wish they hadn't gotten together so soon. I feel like Kyouta's trauma would be a nice bases for the story as he slowly warmed up to Tsubaki. I also feel like they should have made Kyouta's dad more into an abusive villain.

Didn't it seem like only Tsubaki was suffering the entire time?

It felt like as soon as they became a couple it was really just smooth sailing. Sure they argued, but not once did I feel anxious for the couple except when What'sHerFace that liked astronomy showed up (I'll admit I ALMOST cried when they decided to take a "break" though).

Kyouta was the most understanding boyfriend and when he threw little fits and ignored Tsubaki I thought, "Whatever, you deserve a break from dealing with that girl."

Don't get me wrong, I love Tsubaki. She has a beautiful character that actually learns her lessons and grows from it, she has understandable insecurities that comes with being a nerd dating a popular guy, but her misunderstandings are really frustrating! It's basically the plot of the entire manga right down to the last chapter!

Anyway, I guess it was a decent read. I definitely don't feel cheated, but this is by no means an "excellent" story. It was simply entertaining and should be given a chance. The ending is definitely satisfying and you do grow to really love the two main characters. I wish there was more story on Sakura, Miho and Hal though (I especially wanted Hal to find a new love!). Sometimes you need a break from the main couple to focus on the friends (Like in Kare First Love).

If you like this manga definitely try Kare First Love. It's a lot like this except the drama is much, much better.

Fun road with a baka couple

This is certainly not one of the best stories out there, but it's also far from being the worst. I liked how unlike in most shoujo the main characters had their own distinctive quirky personality. They were a baka couple and although I was sometimes annoyed with the drama most of the time they made me laugh.
Many high school shoujo manga have the same conflict where the main girl has to choose a future career path, and has no clue what she wants, and then she just pulls some skill out her ass, that we've never heard of before, and that's the solution. I liked how it didn't happen here, and how Tsubaki's future was actually developed through the whole story.
All in all it was a fun little thing to read, I recommend it to all shoujo lovers.

I've been following this manga ever since it was first scanlated (oh gosh that was a long run) and although there were times when I wanted to drop it because the main character got a bit too annoying (well it is still your typical shoujo), the Character Development was noticeable and it became a series I wanted to finish no matter what~

I still recommend everyone to read it! One of the shoujo mangas with the best art and story smile

I know that some people gave up on it. The main character can get on your nerves sometimes. I still suggest keeping with it. They just uploaded the last chapter today (2/6/14). I've been waiting. It ends great. You'll love it!

it was ok for me, the girl's feeling of insecurities and uneasiness no matter what everyone will say it's true rather it really happens in real life, even te most beautiful girl can feel insecure when she fell inlove thus the feeling of helplessness will follow. cause no matter how the guy will let us feel secure a uman in love will always feel jealous no matter how you deny it. cause love and jealousy are in the same page like smile

I hate it when people say "This is so wrong..", "I hate this manga", "This is so overrated", "I don't understand how anyone can like this..", and so on; when they don't have any reasons other than to hate something they find difficult to relate to. People say the "character is so stupid", "why won't she do this and that"..., well, the news is that this is how the character was written. Story of an insecure girl who lacks confidence and courage, yet goes on strongly to cling to the things she holds dear. You may not appreciate it, but definitely doesn't mean it's crap.

Actually enjoyed it

I've read the reviews and completely understand why people don't like this manga but I quite enjoyed it! It's pretty cliche and can be corny but I loved the light feeling it had to it. I also loved how his character, despite how popular he is, isn't swayed by other girls like other guys in shoujo manga's. I mean there's "rivals" and all that but no cheating or even close to it. Their relationship is very grounded and stable and they really cherish each other and that's what I loved. Their relationship is very simple but strong.
Great light read!

I read this know how the mangaka is, and I wasn't very surprised. Still, I'm the sort who gets happy when I see little moments of jealousy, so I was happy pretty often. The characterization wasn't that bad IMO, but I could see how someone would get tired of the BS in the middle. Fortunately, from where it is right now in Vol 14, things pick up a bit. There's been a lot said about this manga, so I don't want to overdo it, but I think Tsubaki and Kyouta are cute together, and although all the girls want Kyouta, they all fail miserably. What surprised me is that there wasn't more attention on Tsubaki, but there were a couple of situations WITH boys that irritated me because I'm not a fan of... well... using certain actions as a plot twist.

The end is nigh, and the ending was predictable, but I somehow still enjoyed it since it was what I wanted. Well, I have a hard time believing people who date in high school marry and stay married a long time, and I have a harder time believing that Kyouta magically avoided his father's crap martial/paternal behaviors, but it's a manga, and I just ignore it. Otherwise, I'd go mad with plot holes.

So, it's not bad. I found it rather cute, if predictable shoujo. In fact, I've read worse so I gave this a passing grade.

It got so annoying half way through D: So darn angsty with no real reason -__- Deep down I kept hoping they would break up and get over each other. They awoke in me the desire to stab them both >.>
Why is every freaking girl after Kyouta? They are so annoying. I know it is the common thing in mangas but I kept hoping that a hot guy would start hitting on Tsubaki.

*Stabs Everyone*
Tsubaki's mom sucks!
I hope this has a good ending >.> This manga is so full of idiots e_e
